Railway Hotel/Motel - Peterborough

An overnight stay enroute to Queensland. This isn't the Ritz, it is a country pub with a great welcome from Anthony, great pub meals that were quick and tasty. The ensuite upstairs room was clean and adequate for tired travellers even with a double bed. Shame we didn't see the lounge and balcony before we turned in for the night - would have been great to have a nightcap sitting there.

Even though we arrived after the restaurant closed for lunch they still took our order and served us. The staff were friendly and helpful and our motel room was clean, tidy and welcoming. Our evening meal was taken in the restaurant and the service was quick and the food good.

Driving thru to the West, stopped for the nite and called in to the Railway Made to feel at home at once Great dining room and the roast of the day was just great Well done...and thank you

We had dinner at the hotel, I had T bone and my wife had chicken schnitzel, both dishes were plentiful and cooked to our liking, the salad bar was a little thin but over all recomendable.The dining room could have been a little warmer considering the cold night. Staff were friendly, an enjoyable evening

Every person from owners to serving staff were friendly and efficient. The meal was relaxed and enjoyable in the beautiful period dining room. Full marks for freshness quality and quantity.Have visited once before and next time will take a group. Bookings for groups advisable as they often have groups of 20 or more. Met my gluten free needs easily.
