Restaurant bewertenWhen my bf and I first arrived at the restaurant there was only 1 other customer in store.
Below average Chinese foodThe Red Teapot used to have stand out dishes such as the famous prosperous chicken, but no more.
The Red Teapot up the top of William Street has been around for a long time so last week, with fond memories of it we went along for the first time in many
Worst Asian food I've ever had. Used to be really good here. Obviously something has changed as the place was empty and food almost inedible we left almost all of it. Cigarette smoke wafting through from the kitchen constantly was also off putting. It was so quiet in the restaurant it was almost uncomfortable to have a conversation as everyone could hear everything. Not even background music playing. Won't be back.
We came in for a cheap mid week meal, but I'd rather go elsewhere and pay more. There is zero vibe in this place and the food was below average. The steamed dumplings were ok, but the squid tentacles looked like they'd been sitting there for 3 weeks, fried so much there really was no squid in it. The steamed Asian greens were cold and the lamb with cumin was so over powering. For $66 for two without anything to drink, I'd rather have stayed in. What a shame, it used to be so good.
