Restaurant bewertenJust stopped by for coffee and have the most delicious blueberry muffin I've had in a very long time. The staff were nice and friendly and took the time to give us some tips and ideas as to what to see and do in the area. Nice little spot and would go back again.
We had a couple meals here and really enjoyed it. Both were breakfast - outside. They are one of the early-openers in town. It's an old-fashioned, down-home type place. However their salmon-eggs Benedict was tastier than the fancy place at the hotel (Elite used smoked salmon - really nice). Staff was friendly and speed was decent. Just don't expect a fancy place - it's just old, honest cooking and service.
I wanted to take my wife out of town for lunch on Mother's Day. We ended up in Penticton and while we feared every restaurant in town was going to be full, we headed downtown to see what our chances were at The Elite. This restaurant has history going back to 1927 and had a 're-opening' in 1954. It is a special place for a lot of us who grew up in the Okanagan Valley. I've been in it a few times over the past 40 years. We were a little bit stunned to find The Elite virtually empty at 12:30 PM on Mother's Day. That being said, we found a booth near the back, gazed at the retro decor, which probably included several decades-old pieces from the early days of this restaurant, and were served quickly. Our meals were delivered fast, were hot, tasty and filling. Serving sizes were fairly big (my wife did not finish all the fries that came with hers). Pricing was reasonable. With competitors all over the immediate area, including next door, we were very happy to have made the choice to go here. Would we recommend The Elite? Of course we would! We will be back again, for sure. Thank you.
This place looks like they forgot to update the decor about 5 times but it's authentic and worthwhile. We ordered breakfast: eggs Benny and a bacon cheese omelette. Reasonable prices, huge portions, and good simple food. There's a stage with instruments for live shows and weekly open mic nights in the busier season. We will definitely be coming back for a great time with good food.
Went there for lunch last summer and haven't been back. Was absolutely horrible. Ie. Fries tasted like soggy no name brand that you avoid at stores. The place is a dump despite the really cool sign on the building. It seems popular with 13 year olds so perhaps that is their target market.
