Restaurant bewertenWe had a wonderful time staying in one of the yurts this past week. I’ve always wanted to experience staying in a yurt, and it was amazing. The beach is beautiful as well. I hope to return soon!
The overall cleanliness needs improvement. We found mouse droppings behind the coffee pot, and there was a dirty coffee filter left inside, indicating a lack of proper cleaning. Additionally, the shower not only leaked but also soaked the entire floor. While we were washing and drying towels to clean the floor, the power kept tripping. We also found it quite noisy due to the proximity to the highway. This was our first girls' getaway to Penticton, and we were disappointed. Unfortunately, we won't be returning here.
I spent a week there and it was my first time staying in a yurt. The experience was beautiful, with plenty of charming shops nearby and a stunning beach. Overall, I loved it! The only minor downside was the proximity to the highway; however, the noise died down around 11 PM and picked up again around 6 AM, so it was mostly bearable. There are plenty of activities in the area, including swimming, working out, shopping for gifts, enjoying ice cream, getting a haircut, and various water activities like boating and paddling, as well as hiking. Everything is easily accessible within a 10-minute walk.
The Barefoot beach resort has a lot of pros and a few cons (hence the 3 stars). Ultimately, we aren't convinced we would return but if we did we may try a 1 bedroom yurt, or the yurt available on the beach.Pros: Great location with the beach right there, easily accessible. Beautifully landscaped area, lots of trees to create shade and privacy. The yurt itself provided what we needed and was a fun way to get away for a week camping. Bree was extremely easy to get a hold of and addressed our questions right away.Cons: Location is beside the airport and the highway (which wasn't a big deal for us; just bring ear plugs if you're a light sleeper), the cleanliness of the yurt was our biggest concern all the dishes were dirty when we arrived (easily fixable), the toaster had an old bagel in it from the people previous, the towel rack was coming off the wall and made it so we couldn't actually use it for fear of it ripping out of the wall entirely. The lack of attention to these details almost had us questioning if the yurts were thoroughly cleaned in between occupants and kinda grossed us out.Be aware that there are no shelves, or hooks, or drawers or anything of that sort to put your items away for the week; aside from a few coat hangers. It is still truly camping and you'll be living out of your duffel bag.All that aside, coming to Penticton is always a nice time and we enjoyed the getaway despite the hiccups. This place is worth checking out if you come prepared!
Had a great time at barefoot. We stayed in the large yurt and it was way nicer than we expected. Went in expecting something sort of rustic and was surprised at how posh these yurts were. Spotless, roomy, modern appliances, spacious bbathroom and shower BBQ!! . Would stay here again in a heartbeat. Neighbors were really friendly and let us play with their cat on a leash.
