Restaurant bewertenI really don't want to see the resort re-open! The island just has a great relaxed feel to it and this beach bar is just perfect! We rocked up after our hike and swim still in our boardies and bikini and drank cold beer with the locals with amazing ocean views! It's just perfect!
We arrived on Dunk via water taxi and decided to start with coffee - the staff at the Sunset Bar were friendly and helpful and we spoke to them about lunch for a member of our party who has a shellfish allergy, they were great and said no problem they could ensure their lunch was shellfish free. Lunch was great we all had something different and the quality was perfect for us. Some reviews say there is loud music and rude staff but this is not something we encountered they could not have been more helpful and then music wasn't loud. With its position on the beach - it gives great views and makes an idyllic lunch spot - we say go and enjoy!
Not much else to do but relax and have a burger at the bar and a beer. The island is quite shaded but take a hat for those beach walks.
The location of this restaurant is lovely, but the facilities are quite disappointing. The current operators have set up a few tables and are serving food and drinks from what appears to be a container. A group of us had high hopes for a great day out, but were let down. The beer selection was limited and the beer was warm. The $49 bucket of prawns was frozen and tough, while the calamari was inedible. The burger was also of poor quality. It seems like they could have put more thought into their offerings. It's best to just go for a walk or swim, rather than for the food or drinks at this place.
The hosts Angie, Adam, and Tess were truly wonderful. The atmosphere was great and the food is a must try. We paddled from Lucinda and arrived at the restaurant by kayak, where we were warmly welcomed and treated with exceptional hospitality. Nothing was too much trouble for them.
