Restaurant bewertenFresh air! After having a very disappointing experience in an adjacent winery, we called Lone Madrone to see if they could record a group of seven at the end of the day. They've received us! We already had two previous tastings and decided to buy only one bottle to escape the day. The wine was great, our server was so hospitable!
That was by far the worst of the 6 wineries we visited on weekends. The casts were incredibly stingy (maybe 1 to 1 1/2 ounces) and the wine was not very good at all. The highlight was the hard cedar we tried after. I would not recommend this winery at all!!
The last time I went to Paso Robles was right in front of the pandemic, which is one of my favorite wineries in Paso Robles . I am so glad that I could try the 2007 Sweet Cheeks. I would recommend to anyone who loves sweet wine. You have other wine selections that I also like, but for someone who likes sweet wine, this is one of my favorites.
Have eaten there twice ..first time excellent..ordered the same thing with anticipation..was just not the same ....Sauce was cut off and cut of meat was served blue...and chew....as always the frits were the same and were not disappointment.
The real deal when it comes to wine. I've been a member for awhile and didn't know until recently that the owner and winemaker came from a culinary background in the UK and started Lone Madrone after training under the wine maker at Le Cuvier (who is amazing as a non traditional style). He was then brought over to Tablas Creek (where he continues to do traditional Rhone blends). So Lone Madrone is known for having an excellent base of wines that are not constrained by tradition and tend to take on more creative expression that never disappoints. After having a small salon in the Adelaida district, they now own a new tasting room in the former farmstand market at the intersection of Hwy 46 and Vineyard drive; just adjacent to Zin Alley.Every time we come, we receive very attentive service with a detailed explanation of the wines. We're not rushed and can enjoy and savor each sip. They now have a kitchen at the new location and offer up their famous lamb tacos I could come just for the tacos : )If you are serious about wine, this is a place not to be missed.
