Hippopotamus - Paris 3e Arrondissement

Wanted to stop in for a quick meal but took over an hour and a half for lunch- we waited about an hour just to get our food it was not worth the wait. Mix up with the bill after, long wait for change,...etc.

Tonight I had one of the most frightening experiences in your restaurant.....I am still shaking and very upset. We were having a meal while visiting Paris. My grandmother, My sister, My Mother who has Cancer Diabetic Me who is terminally ill with lung...disease. We ordered of the Euro menus requested a children’s menu for my mother as she is diabetic and has cancer. Every time we have visited your chain we have been treated beautifully. This is why we chose to eat today in your restaurant. Our waiter when we explained our mother is diabetic was very rude and agressivo insisting my mother order a chicken burger without the bun from the main menu. We explained she literally has no appetite because of her illness and a children’s portion was all she could manage. He became more and more rude and aggressive so we asked to speak to the manager, when the manager arrived we explained all to him and he also said she had to order from the main menu and wouldn’t accept that other places have kindly allowed this even within your chain. We then decided to leave as the staff were unhelpful, aggressive and no empathy! My mother left in her wheelchair and our grandmother and sister. I went to the manager to ask his name and the name of the waiter who served as and was aggressive with the intention of sending a complaint to the head office. The manager said: “why would I give you the names?” and turned his back on me. So I took photos of both team members with the intention of writing to head office to complain about the experience. The Manager proceeded to snatch my phone from my hands in front of the entire restaurant and shouted at me and went though my phone photos to delete the images. He hurt me trying to take the phone from my hands and of course he was stronger than me so I as able to take it. Also due to my disability I have little strength. As he snatched my phone he took a photo of himself you can see what happened! I was so scared shaken and shocked by this, even the waitress was I understood her telling the manager he cannot take another persons phone. I got scared and asked for the phone number for the police. None of the staff would give me the number all staff said they didn’t know the number. Then the manager shouted “yes you call the police” “you call them” again very aggressively. I am terminally ill on chemo I was left shaken upset my family were concerned where I was and came to find me. I was very weak, shaken and couldn’t stop crying. This experience has left me very upset and scared disappointed with one of my favourite restaurant chains that I love to visit in France. I was too scared felt too unwell to call the police and none of the other staff would help me or assist me. My family found the photos in the deleted files on my phone. And the lovely management at Buffalo Grill allowed my mother to have the Menu Enfant and treated our table so nicely. Unfortunately due to the stress my mother was sick and couldn’t eat her food also I was unable to enjoy my meal as I was so disturbed and distressed. Very upsetting experience I couldn’t take a photo of the manager, he took it while snatching my phone from my hands

Because of train schedules, we had to eat an early meal I honestly wasn't expecting anything great. Because we were so early, we think we had a waiter who wasn't really a dinner waiter he didn't seem very familiar with the menu. First,...he indicated a table to sit at unfortunately it was next to a table with rather wild children. We asked if he could move us and he very nicely set up another table for us. We asked for English menus and French menus unfortunately one of the English menus had pages with lots of sticky sauce on them. We showed him and he said of course and got us clean menus. Ordering was a bit chaotic some English, some French some not very good of both and somehow, two of the orders were wrong when they came. They told us it would be minutes to change and it was all done very nicely and I suppose as quickly as possible.Our next waiter too was very personable. The meal was surprisingly good tender meat, terrific baked potatoes, the little pots of cream at the end were delicious the salted caramel!!! And the manager brought us free coffee to apologize for the mix up. So, a few hurdles to get past but all done with a smile and besides, we had a terrific meal for not too expensive. Just what we needed.

Went to this restaurant last night for a special occasion after a long day at Disneyland. The waiter was rude and got our orders wrong several times even giving my partner a completely different meal. My steak was fatty and over cooked definitely not worth...the money. The bill was given to us before we could even ask for the dessert menu, being told they could no longer serve cocktails but then served them when I went to pay although we no longer wanted them increasing the total bill and were wrong again.

Fik en T-bone som var totalt gennemstegt, selv om vi havde bedt om en medium. Da vi bad om at få den byttet, fik vi lang tid efter en ny, som godt nok var medium, men tilgengæld havde de skrevet to T-bone på regningen. Og de mente først, at det var som det skulle være, indtil vi brokkede os og selvfølgelig kun ville betale for den ene som vi havde fået.Vi bad også om mere sauce til de andre menuer som vi havde fået, det kom aldrig! Desuden var det meget små bøffer og ingen mulighed for at opgradere bøffen. Fik en oksemørbrad på 180gram, eneste mulighed for at opgradere størrelsen var at købe en ekstra hovedret.
