Restaurant bewertenI went with a friend last night. I thought that the staff was friendly and super helpful, as my friend was trying to order a chocolate martini, although they didn't have all of the ingredients. The waitress could've easily just told her that they didn't serve that, but she patiently improvised with her and had the bartender make something similar. It tasted pretty close. I got a cold corona--always refreshing, and a taco salad with extra queso sauce. They brought out a big bowl of it, so I had enough for my salad and for my friend I to dip our chips in. All in all, very good food and excellent service.
Haven't had a bad meal or experience here yet. Steak ranchero is really good. Salsa is terrific.
Delicious food, excellent service, and ice-cold beer served in frozen mugs! The Tex-Mex is great. It's hard to go wrong at this place!
*Health score not available* We stumbled upon this restaurant by chance while returning from a Thanksgiving weekend trip to Houston. Originally, we planned to check out Alex's Mexican Tacos in Paris, TX, but the address listed as 1545 Lamar Ave turned out to be incorrect. After driving up and down Lamar Avenue a few times without success, we decided to give up and make a call. It turned out they were at a different location, and we didn’t want to waste more time searching for them. While we were driving along Lamar, my wife spotted Don Lalo's. It was around 2:15 PM, and we noticed about six cars parked outside, so we decided to give it a try. Inside, there were about 10 to 12 diners, and several more came in while we were eating. I would rate the food as good. My wife ordered enchiladas, and I chose the Pollo Merida, which is a grilled chicken breast topped with white queso. I enjoy spicy salsa, and theirs was quite decent. I would definitely eat there again and would recommend it to friends. Overall, the food was good, but the service was a bit slow. The cashier was also serving tables, and that wasn’t his strongest area. (Note: This review was originally posted on Tripadvisor by Spike S.)
I travel for work, so I always make a point to try out Mexican restaurants. This is the second one I've visited in this town, and they both have the same menu. I ordered the fajitas rancheras, but they were not what I was expecting—quite disappointing, actually! I ended up just eating the beans and rice along with the chips. I wasn't very fond of the corn tortillas either.
