I could not believe that if you choose to have the “Menu of the day,” your Table is NOT prepared for your meal, only those that have the “A la Carte”, are directed to a table, that has nice tablecloth, plates, knife and fork, and drinking glass! It’s apparent that those that choose the “Menu” are NOT welcomed!!! The waitress should also know that you don’t bring the hot second course if you are still eating the first course! What a shame this place has gone back, pity we can’t have the old menu and those two previous well known wonderful waiters, they had been there for many years and provided great service; they also injected fun and character into this place! The new owner(s) need to think what they should do to get all the previous cliental back, to what used to be a wonderful place, an icon, and a wonderful place to have meal!! Currently it’s a dying restaurant that’s on life support!!!
This is a very typical place really clos to Pamplona (10 mins. drive). The landscape and the small village have a unique atmosphere: the river, the bridge, the mountains, the fronton , etc. A lot of locals come here just to have appetizer before lunch. You have two options for lunch: ground flour and terrace (informal) or first floor for special ocassions. You can order all the typical dishes from Navarra: pochas, cordero chilindrón, ajoarriero, cogollos, espárragos, pimientos del piquillo, chuletón, cuajada, goshua, etc. The terrace by the river is highly recommended in Spring, Summer and early Fall.
This place is very nicely situated and famous with the locals. The tapas and pinchos are very nice if eaten outside. The remaining food is however less then regular. my fish was bathed in oil, which I didn't appreciate.also there was so little personnel and so many people we had to wait for an uncomfortable long time. Not impressed.
A very exquisite rice. the croquettes, unbeatable, the treatment of ten employees and the environment. without comments. very attentive constantly. Pablo served us the table with great professional treatment. I'm sure it's highly recommended.
Large terrace, with quite separate tables, very important in the times that run. We were 4 adults and 3 children. very fast service. The kids asked for children's dishes. adult secrets, ribs and 2 dams. incoming salad with cheese and broken eggs with potatoes. We order 4 desserts and 2 coffees. 8 beers and 3 soft drinks. bread. price 171€ well cooked meat, very rich the dam above all. it was cold (January) and it cooled quickly. I lost a little more variety in a letter, but the site is a rice specialist (a great variety in a letter. )
