Ca Sa Padrina - Palma de Mallorca

Best food we had in Mallorca! Highly recommended. We were introduced to this take-away deli by a local. This eatery was the highlight of our holiday (in terms of Spanish food) and we bought food from this place on 3 occassioins. The food is essentially home-made nutritious meals. You just select what you want from the counter. The dishes cost about €3 each. (Not to be confused, this is not tapas, but full meals). They will put in a plastic container. The staff can heat it up for you in a microwave.They also sell deserts (similar to rice pudding). They rotate the menus. So it is different everything. They make everything fresh every day. The are no tables and chairs, so no place to eat in the shop. On some days they also do paella. The food is excellent as the customers are Spaniards and not tourist. if you are on holiday, this is a place worth visiting. This place makes 'memorable ' food. In other words, when you get back home, you will be missing their cuisine!. We had aubergine with potatoes, which was yummy. Their paella was awesome. This place is only open a limited number of hours. It opens at 10am and it closes by 4pm (closed monday). However, be warned, that by 2pm, there will not be much left. They are very popular. This place is about 10mins walk from El Corte Ingles (I think there are two branches of El Cortes Ingles). It is just south of the Calle de Manacor (parallel). Once you bought your food. The only glitch is trying to find a place to eat it. There is a park about 10mins walk. We had a rental car, so it was not so difficult. Parking is a bit of pain in Mallorca. Hours: 10:00 to 16:00 (open every day except Mondays). Sadly, our hotel was far away, otherwise would have bought an ice pack and take it back the hotel.... There is parking outside, but it is in the blue zone.

En realidad, el pollo es delicioso y las croquetas también...

Hacía tiempo que no compraba un pollo en este restaurante. Ayer encargué 1 y medio, y fue delicioso. Sin embargo, era demasiado pequeño. Antes solían ser de un tamaño más decente, sin exagerar, pero algo más normal. Las patatas, las probamos y se fueron a la basura. Antes eran jugosas y ricas, pero ninguno de los 5 que estábamos en la mesa se las comió. Puede que compre de nuevo el pollo, pero sin las patatas y pensando en el tamaño que sirven. Además, no es que tenga un súper precio ya que pagué 23€.
