Restaurant bewertenWe joined the Club earlier this year and decided that we would go for dinner for my birthday last night. A huge error !When we arrived the restaurant was packed - generally a great sign ! When we ordered they had just run out of the Tuesday night special rump so was then made to order the restaurant priced rump- rare with a Dianne sauce. I ordered the Thai beef salad with the salt and pepper squid as an entrée.After about 45 minutes it all arrived at the same time - entrée is meant to be served first - anyway the entrée was very disappointing consisting of 4 soggy bits of calamari with some soggy chips - really insulting size and presentationMy husband's steak was covered with a reddy/orange coloured sauce with a skim on top - yuk - obviously been sitting under a warmer for some time accompanied by a small limp salad. My Thai beef salad consisted of lumps of chewy steak in amongst a salad of mainly gourmet lettuce leaves - no coriander, fish sauce or any of the traditional flavours. Please find a recipe that actually reflects the name of the dish - I am happy to send you one!The final icing on the cake was that I asked for a Cointreau on ice at the bar as my favourite birthday drink - well there was none of that because no one has ever asked for that before - seriously this is not somewhere I would ever recommend.I have an airbnb on the Central Coast and I will definitely never suggest this Club to any of my guests.
We haven't been there for months and thought we would try the new menu ....... We only had the daily special, sadly it was probably the worst food ever .... We waited 40mins for our food which was stone cold and not enough food to feed a child, hubby got one slice of Pork & not much else and I got one small boiled new potatoe cut into slices with my chicken (more the size of a sparrow) we were not surprised the Restaurant was almost empty.
Although I belong to the Club we hadn't been here for monthsThe Club now run the Kitchen and they aremaking big efforts to put their own stamp on the overall operation Tonight it was Barramundi for $10!It was very goodIt's hard to do cheap food that is good and it was very good in our opinion The decor has improved dramatically in the Restaurant area We will be back Along with the Ettalong Bowling Club it has to be amongst the best Club food on the Central Coast We will be back next weekOn the practical side there is plenty of parking opposite the Club and they have a courtesy bus or it's a short walk from Ourimbah Station and Busways run the 36 bus past the club from Gosford
We wanted to try the new restaurant as we hadn't been here for a while. I was surprised that the meals were a little pricey and for a family of four to have a decent meal (not burgers and pizza) was probably going to cost around $90-100. It wasn't easy to find a budget option on a Friday night. A calamari meal had only about 7 or 8 pieces of calamari swamped by chips and salad. It needs to be better to get me back!
I have reviewed here previously and we went back for a Saturday night show, Neil diamond, which was great! My risotto on the other had was terrible!!! Grainy and undercooked, I could not finish it! Got a taste of my friends pasta, it had been slopped onto my dish! won't be back.
