Restaurant bewertenDespite putting in more than one order for sashimi, my friend and I were not given a single piece!! We were only brought rolls and tempura for the two orders we put in. To be honest we probably ordered more rolls than we should have and by the time we realized we weren't going to get any sashimi, we were full anyway so didn't make a fuss about it. But needless to say, we won't be back. Realize sashimi is the most expensive part of AYCE sushi for the restaurant, but not bringing us a single piece is unacceptable.Service also left a lot to be desired. Had to actively flag someone down to order, get cutlery, get tea, etc. and no plates were cleared away until we left. Rolls were okay but too much mayo for my liking on a lot of them. Will stick with Hokkaido next time we go for sushi in Ottawa.
We have been several times to the restaurant. We usually select the all-you-can-eat, but twice we have selected the à-la-carte. They briefly had a buffet option too, but their current way is best: order from a menu on their tablets, as often as you like (with the all you can eat). Top 3 sushi quality of all the restaurants I have ever visited, of any price range (Toronto, Montreal, Ottawa)! There is a 2nd floor area at the back which perhaps could be used to rent out for parties (?) ...Downsides:Sometimes staff has trouble understanding if you make any special requests. Food is usually prompt, but not always. In winter, there is only 1 door so the weather can get in sometimes.
We went there on Saturday evening and it was surprisingly empty. The service was very friendly, we even got a free plate of salmon that was supposed to be for take outs, but we ate in. The sushi was nice and they adjusted the sushi to our taste, we asked not to make them spicy because of the kids. Would definitely come again.
We went as a group for lunch during the week - service was good, no complaints. Food overall was average (hence the rating) The only food complaint was the soup...too much onions...four of us felt this way.
Great for calling ahead and picking up on the way home. They have nifty tablets for ordering at your table. I usually stick with the tempura shrimp and gyoza (dumplings).
