Restaurant bewertenI wanted to have a Lunch break while shopping for some more plants for my garden, so I headed out to Waldecks and tried there Blue Lotus Cafe. I found a table outside but undercover, they had the blinds down on this stormy day, which...helped with the cold winds, and made it comfortable to sit out there, we chose a bench seat and table right near the railing. It was a shame they didn't do a steak, so we went for the Fish and Chips. You have to order and pay at the counter so my friend stood in line. It wasn't too long and we got our meals, the fish and chips were nice but the price was a little higher than i would have liked to pay for the meal. We enjoyed the break in our day, the surroundings were nice and staff where friendly.
We live close by and find it very handy having this cafe on our door step for a cheeky treat, had many of the menu items and desserts and not many faults, slightly expensive but it is lovely so you kind of don't mind
We went for a casual lunch around noon on a Saturday and beat the main rush; the Cafe filled quickly soon after. Its popularity is due to the availability of seating both indoors and outdoors among the nursery and very pleasant staff who kept busy...either serving customers or making sure items like glassware and cutlery were available when the Cafe got busy. The menu was limited but included enough choice to require some thought and the serves were very adequate. The coffee was excellent and free tap water is available to have with the meal; the staff ensure that you are aware of it. There is a small children's playground which was busy on our visit to the Cafe; overall the dining area and surrounds has a most pleasant, casual ambiance. Prices are reasonable.
We have gone to the blue lotus for a few months and it is never missed to impress. the service is fast, friendly and efficient. eating is really excellent and above all, the Thai specialties are worth trying. there's a nice one. selection of cakes for those with a sweet tooth and the coffee is perhaps the top cup we had in the opposite. the water sitting outside on summer day makes a visit here.
Since the Covid lock last year, we have often come here over the years, but this is the first time back. beautiful location, but bad service pie selection cakes were arrived before the coffee, obst toast with butter no cutlery served...Kissen are the same as everywhere in perth with possibly the poor flat white in perth. how shameful, how this coffee shop was once really delightful.
