We’ve been travelling in NZ for a week and this is the best breakfast I’ve had so far! Great location (even on a rainy day like we had! and the staff were lovely. Definitely recommend Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

Unfortunately we did not have the greatest food here although you cannot fault the lovely atmosphere and location this cafe provides. Coffee and hot choc were poorly aerated resulting in a dry thick foam top and watery mouth feel rather than velvety. Disappointed to have paid for an XL drink and received one with 40mm of foam. Not to mention that the hot choc tasted like milk with a whisper chocolate is this maybe the type powder being used? The french toast was bland but had 5/5 presentation. Only flavour coming through was the roasted banana, crushed peanuts and berries (these were also cold being cooked from frozen I assume . However, 1 star is earnt for their Opua Grill breakfast meal this was tasty. Perfectly poached egg, in store made toast and lovely spiced rosti. Another star is for the friendly staff and well decorated, welcoming space.
