Restaurant bewertenAll the food was kind of meh. It wasn't any thing special. All the staff and patrons were all nice people, but the floor and tables are sticky and dirty.
Nice establishment in Old Ellicott City went by myself on a Monday afternoon and was able to easily find a seat at the bar upstairs (which is what they recommended). I ordered the Bird's the Word sandwich, which was good. I'll definitely try the Nashville hot version next time. I also appreciated the fries which were not soggy and not too crunchy. All the staff were friendly and attentive. Also I parked in lot D (free) and walked a few minutes around the corner.
The short Located within the Historic Old Ellicott City area, Manor Hill Tavern offers a kind of elevated pub/bar experience that feels perfect for a suburban night out.I knew about Manor Hill 's beer before their physical locations and I 've been a fan. They offer a decent variety of beer types and I can 't recall any that I haven 't enjoyed. That being said, they do a great job of understanding what their demographic and customer base want. They have a few locations (tavern, brewery in Ellicott City, and I believe they either own or partner with Victoria Gastro Pub). Manor Hill 's ambiance has a mix of tavern and pub vibes on the inside with stone and old wood being the main materials found in OEC. They also set up a rooftop and outdoor patio nearby that allows you to enjoy the character of the area. I would definitely recommend dining in versus carrying out if time permits. The menu selection is a combination of sandwiches, pizzas, and salads. Everything feels fresh and balanced especially from what I would typically expect at a pub. Their sandwiches range from burgers to chicken sandwiches and Cubanos and their pizza menu offers pre selected combinations or a build your own. The salads appeared to have very generous portions from what I 've seen.Their service is kind and attentive. They 're usually pretty busy, so I could see it being pretty easy to lose track, but I 've never really felt that way (although I think the rooftop does get less love because it 's out of the way from the rest of the tables). They do run happy hours from 4 7PM on weekdays with pretty good deals on a few taps, cocktails, and menu items.Manor Hill has been a great addition to the OEC area and I 'd definitely recommend if you 're in the area.
YELP REVIEW MANOR HILL TAVERNWe were a party of eight. Our server was very friendly and offered helpful suggestions. She also accommodated our request for separate checks. Manor Hill Tavern is also participating in this years Restaurant Week in Howard County. One of our ladies was very happy she chose from that menu.Brick Oven pizzas!! Freshly made with generous amts. of toppings and fresh ingredients. We tried their Restoration pizza and the Truffle Shuffle which both oozed with flavorful oils, sauces, cheeses and fresh herbs. The crust was chewy and delicious. We were informed by our server that because the pizzas came from another area of the kitchen, the salads and other meals would come out at different times and some of them did take awhile to arrive. We tried to eat slowly but this is piping hot pizza people! Granted the restaurant did seem extraordinarily busy for a Tuesday which may have been due to restaurant week or maybe some group event? They did have other staff members pitching in to help bring out our meals as soon as they had been prepared. When the salads did finally come, the portions were an eye popping size! They had selected the Southwest salads. So despite some delays, the food was very much enjoyed. They do have a seating area downstairs that can accommodate a couple of larger groups. It may get a bit noisy but we were glad we were able to all sit together. This is Main Street Ellicott City. The location can be a bit tricky to get to, cutting across part of Old Columbia Pike road from the closest public parking lot D. They are also a brewery owned restaurant so the beverage menu offers a wide selection of craft beers, wines, and cocktails with those favorite prices and special offerings during Happy Hour. I think a busy day of shopping the stores and boutiques in this beautiful historic town of Ellicott City is in order just so I can return and enjoy another meal!
We 've eaten here frequently and usually love it. But, as I write the this, I have a screaming headache. We (2 couples hoping to catch up) were seated upstairs next to a table of ~14 who were celebrating a birthday. One of the party was a loud talker as in, it sounded like he had a megaphone. Everyone else at the table seemed to be trying to scream over him. What is the matter with these people (all in their 20 30s, not kids). Did their parents not teach them about inside voices ? There was not much the wait staff could do although they did apologize to us and the couple of other tables seated up there. The waitress said she had never heard a table that loud before. Perhaps management could have come over and asked them to to hold it down. But in today 's world, they could claim discrimination or start shooting. Management needs to institute a new policy of no tables over 6 or 8 unless they can be accommodated in a private room. I know there are small rooms in this restaurant. Our food was good but we were in a hurry to leave so no drinks, no dessert. Had to get out. I will eat here again because we like the food but this was strike one.
