Palm & Pawn - NORTH WAGGA WAGGA

This was my favourite pub when I lived in Wagga over 7 years ago. This week, I visited again for the first time since then, and was pleased to see the meals were just as excellent, and the service just as fast.

I recently had a meal at this hotel, and it was great, the steak was cooked perfectly as were the vegetables, the bistro staff were friendly and helpful

Meal was great, huge and reasonably priced for a family of 6. Had a little 'hiccup' using EFTPOS due to intermittent WIFI. Meal was served within 15 minutes of ordering.

Arrived at 7:15 ordered straight away waitress/kitchen hand was lovely . We ordered palm bread 1x pork schnitzel 1x chicken parmigiana and 1x grilled chicken breast in creamy mustard sauce. Then had to go into the bar to get three soft drink. The Palm bread came out asap was lovely thickly sliced with sun-dried Tomato bacon melted cheese was lovely then pork schnitzel came out 10minutes later the chicken schnitzel the waitress apologised say the grilled chicken takes a bit longer then the rest 37 minutes later it comes out with the veggies I ask where are the veggies she said oh yer sorry I can get some for I said don't worry. The wait was bad enough as there was only three other tables a table of one and two tables of two. As soon as my meal was served the kitchen and inside dinning room lights were turned out the cook left to a motel room. The pork was just cooked the chicken parmigiana had a weird smell and didn't tasted to good so one mouthful was eaten my grilled chicken was more then chargrilled it was burnt in a cream sauce not mustard just cream one mouthful eaten. So the half the schnitzel was given to the dog that was walking around the pub in the dinning areas we left through the main bar the waitress was behind the bar cleaning up no one else was there not one customer it was 8:30 on a Saturday night . The sign clearly stated restaurant open 6 till 9. Will never return a waste of time and money

I have driven past this place many times, drooling at the $10 TBONE between 12 and 2pm. Problem is that it was always out side of the hours. Well, I finally got there today, and I was hugely let down.Can I have a TBone please? No, we don't have them anymore, not for a long time. Why is it still advertised on the banners and posters?Dunno.So, I ordered a rump and veg. I asked if it includes mashed potato. No, we don't do mashed potato. Why is it on the menu? Dunno.Anyway, the steak was very tough and there was more salt on the chips than potato. Based on todays visit, I DO NOT RECOMMEND this place.
