Restaurant bewertenDuring a golfing trip with three friends, we were looking for a great place to have breakfast and we found it. The experience was superb all around and we had zero complaints.
We have been regular patrons of this cafe for years, as it has always been a convenient pit stop just off the roundabout in Sleaford during our long road trips. It was a hidden gem that we preferred over the well-known fast food chains you typically find along busy traffic routes. However, on our recent visit, we were disappointed to discover that "Lina's" cafe is now under new ownership and has been rebranded as "Frankies." Our experience at "Frankies" was a far cry from what we were accustomed to. The warm welcome, delicious menu, and freshly cooked meals are a thing of the past. Instead, we were presented with a lackluster menu on a clipboard with limited options. The quality of the food has drastically declined, with cheap and unappetizing ingredients replacing the once locally sourced and fresh offerings. My breakfast was a disaster, with poor quality bacon, processed sausage, a runny fried egg, and artificial black pudding served with a slice of white bread. It was truly revolting. My husband's scampi and chips were equally disappointing, with bland flavors and cheap, frozen fries. The overall experience was a letdown, and we will never be returning. The new owners have ruined what was once a beloved cafe on a popular traffic route. We will now be looking for an alternative stop near Sleaford for our future road trips.
I stopped by this cafe while driving through Lincolnshire. It's located on the outskirts of town and is easy to access when traffic is congested. The cafe is straightforward with no fancy decorations. Although the menu was old and the decor outdated, they offer a wide variety of food and the service is excellent. I had a delicious Cheese Mushroom Omelette that was quite large, accompanied by a fresh salad. The cafe seems to have a steady flow of customers, most likely passing through, but I had a satisfying lunch here. Thank you.
This is usually a busy cafe and has a wide choice covering breakfasts, sandwiches and main meals. Friendly efficient service, but they could really improve the feel of the place by replacing the torn, crinkled and grubby menu cards.
We go most weekends for breakfast and haven’t had a bad meal yet. Well worth the money. Perfect running poached eggs (most pls we struggle with that!! and nothing too much trouble.
