Restaurant bewertenMy family is from Hartsville. Chris and Mary Lou Ghoens and W.T. and Mary Sue Pierce. Family get together there was always Yogi on the table I'll drive from Columbia to Hartsville JUST TO GET CHICKEN.
Loved this spot. Fast friendly service made for a quick lunch. The crunch from the chicken will knock you out and just the right amount of sweetness to set it apart from other fried chicken options.
Counter cashier seemed very unhappy to be at work and having to serve customers, seemed more interested in socializing with the people they knew. Chicken is always good but as the sides go the mashed potatoes tasted watery and very much from flakes and the green beans were the kind you buy already seasoned in the can. Also the chicken livers had been fried too long and were hard on the edges. Still a local favorite and best prices on chicken in town!
The fried chicken was good. I would highly recommend it. My only issue were the sides they were pretty average and weren't really anything I would want to try again. The sweet tea was really good, though.
I got the Cindy Bear with four pieces of chicken and two sides. The chicken was very crispy and delicious. The masked potatoes and gravy and fried corn on the cob was delicious. The food and service were great.
