Restaurant bewertenI 'm sorry to say, i didn 't enjoy my first visit to Kath 's one bit and am amazed at all the good reviews. The staff were miserable and didn 't crack a single smile between them, I was made to feel uncomfortable when i didn 't have enough cash to pay for a sandwich they don 't have a card machine, but do take cheques! (1985 called it wants its payment options back! and then I waited over 20 minutes for a coffee, which they had clearly forgotten about. When i enquired about my missing coffee, the lady just said, (without so much as a smile or an apology , I 'm catching up with orders , but she wasn 't...she was cleaning tables. With so many other nice places around Derbyshire that offer a smile with your coffee, there 'll be no need for me to come back here.
It's been a long awaited return to Kaths. We generally visit spring to summers end. Today we ventured to Bakewell and when my wife mentioned lunch I said Kaths. Her smile said it all. I had the ploughman's Don't think 2 ploughman could finish it all) my wife had homely pie that looked and smelt delicious apparently it taste delicious but I didn't get to try). Kath and staff thank you all food service choice standard fabulous. If you want great produce prepared and delivered well this is the place. By the way I honestly don't know how those cyclist ride their bikes after eating those wonderful scones talk about hill climb energy boosts. Once again thanks and see you soon wished I lived nearer).
What a gem of a place, stayed there in our motorhome, had several meals in the cafe, all brilliant, superb food, will serve whatever you want, the breakfast is huge, its the first time, ever, that I have not finished a cooked breakfast. Super staff, just could not fault it, Thank you Kath, we will return next time we are in the area
Visited following a recommendation and so glad we did. Homemade food was delicious, very reasonably priced and such friendly staff. Will definitely be back when in the area.
Don't pay attention to the negative reviews and make sure to visit this cafe for a delicious breakfast, meal, coffee, cake, or just a refreshing drink. I visited several times while staying at a nearby campsite and was always greeted with a warm welcome. The staff is super friendly, especially if you have a dog with you. Even other customers are friendly and willing to strike up a conversation while enjoying the beautiful countryside setting. I inquired about Sunday lunch and was told to come around noon to avoid long wait times after 1:00. The scones were impressively large and all the food coming out of the kitchen looked appetizing. I am excited to try some of the dishes after exploring the hills surrounding this charming cafe and small farm shop.
