Restaurant bewertenThis place is amazing. they serve high-quality dishes with the whistle of insects. if they have never tried to eat insects, this can be the most wonderful and interesting way to connect with this type of food that can be the main source of our future. the insects themselves were fried and baked and had a really nice flavor. it needs something mut for the first bite, but it tastes really good. the meals themselves are at a high western level and really delicious. the combination of these two styles is in my opinion unique and one has to do if they are in bangkok and fan of the creative kitchen. the restaurant is part of a fantastic great modern art market where you can spend at least a whole afternoon before eating here.
We had an experimenter dinner here and I can't recommend enough to wet in the backyard! food was amazing, both with and without insects. I really enjoyed the ant caviar mojito too! the place is beautifully located in chang chui creative park (where you can enjoy the boutiques before or after the meal).
This must be one of the most unforgettable culinary experiences we have ever had. all about insects in the backyard is from this world. super service by the attentive staff. they have seasoned enough to know when they rely on the sights for a self-directed exploration/a very instantly eruption. they have also seen enough first painters to be sensitive to impress the people who are on a brave front to their better halves. they love the luxurious yet relaxed mood. very generously furnished with sorted taxidermied animal world arranged in dioramen, one in the main room and another in the private back dining area. and this show stealing sculpture of a gigantic baptism of carnivorous plants hanging next to the numerous antique chandeliers. unexpected cheerfulness. the menu is simple for the inconvenient and has beautifully designed photos to describe what they are getting in. that makes it all the more amazing that the dishes that were served looked exactly as those on the menu. It needed beer to help with the bug. could taste the fresh of the ingredients. just don't expect ravioli, risotto or whatever you order to be the best you ever tasted. expect the fresh insects to add a pleasant crunchiness. my favorite was the grashüpfer. the Thai water bug was the largest and most challenging one to eat. command! Don’t let the fine dining table intimidate. the prices are extremely reasonable. there is a tasting menu specially designed for them to experience a little of everything on the menu. super fun! I highly recommend it.
A unique place that cooks edible insects! Definitiw an eye-opening fine dining experience and a great place for people who want to try insect for the first time. the food was very delicious and well prepared. my mother tried the 6-speed menu that was surprisingly filled. the service was very good and when I told the staff that it was the birthday of my mother, they gave us a free dessert!
Omg! I'm so glad I dragged the whole family here for this awesome meal in this amazing restaurant. Insects in the Backyard serves sustainable, edible insects in a fine dining concept. But don't let the term fine dining deter you as prices are very very reasonable. My younger son and I were looking forward to the meal as we're not squeamish about such foods and have munched down scorpion and meal worms before. What we wanted to experience was insects as the alternative protein source in meals, and how it can draw the uninitiated to accept eating insects. Glad to have convinced and converted my elder son. My wife was a different ballgame altogether. Who knew crickets would taste so good and as a source of protein for the pasta? Or silk worms would pair so well with the spicy spaghetti. Or that ants and ant caviar would go so well with pan fried sea bass. The scallop with ant caviar also paired so well. We finished off the dinner with rich, warm brownie topped with crickets, walnuts, vanilla and dark chocolate ice-cream, and crepe suzette with vanilla ice cream and peaches and big juicy silk worms. Mmmmm. We also enjoyed the service as the staff was attentive, yet not intrusive. The decor is also somewhat quirky and lends to the occasion. Dine and enjoy the experience and food and keep this business going. More people should be aware of this awesome restaurant and delicious food, insects or not. OK. They have a normal menu, which they've labelled the Present. And the alternative menu where they've swapped the protein source with insects or added insects to enhance the flavour and experience is called the Future.
