Restaurant bewertenThe food is great but quite pricey. They have good hand-pulled noodles. The staff that took my order is friendly and accommodating. She is kind enough to take in my request to not put pork in the Yangchow rice that I ordered.
It’s traditional Chinese cooking, nothing fancy, just the way it was originally made. After a long day, my team and I had dinner here. For just Php 1,260, we were all relatively satisfied, that’s 4 dishes and 3 cups of plain rice. The overall taste showed no signs of MSG, as everything we had was lightly seasoned. My personal top choice would be the Cube Dried Chili. It was sticky good with hints of spice. The texture was inviting and paired well with simple Garlic Kangkong. The Adobo Tokwa and Egg was bland, but the portions were good. The Sweet Sour Fish Fillet was too sweet and lacked the tangy kick it needs. I wish the fish were crispy as well.
MEY LIN Jupiter, Makati City A Chinese restaurant that serve variety of savory dishes. Sept.24,2018 Ordered their Group Meal #2 for Php 1,900 for 4 persons and added one more viand and rice. YANGCHOW 4/5 I am not into rice anymore for almost a year now, but this rice made me do it again... SQUID 3/5 This squid dish is so yummy, it is bursting with flavor; but the serving is too small for 4 persons. Natikman lang talaga namin sya, masarap pero bitin! Hahah STRING BEANS 4.5/5 I am not a fan of string beans, but this dish made me ask for more hahaha .. It is crisp, it is flavorful, though I really cannot guess what the ingredients are, but I like it. FISH FILLET 3.5/5 A fish that is not fishy! I like that it is firm and juicy, but I think there is something lacking with the sauce. The sauce is kind of bland and i think the sauce should be thick, just saying. Hehe PATA TIM 5/5 OH YAAAASSSS! This dish is the best! Awesome sauce, falls of the bone and soooooooo tender. I have nothing more to say. Thumbs up! CUAPAO 4/5 It is best partnered with the pata tim, love dipping it to the pata tim thick sauce... LEMON CHICKEN 4/5 Sauce consistency is thick and flavorful, I love it. I just think that it is better if the chicken skin is crispier. Visit their branches and taste the flavorful dishes that they offer, it may be kind of pricey ... but for me, the flavors are blended well and the quality is there...
Mey Lin has been a household name if you want good Chinese dishes. Since I was young, their hand-pulled noodles has been my favorite. I remember we were there every week. A lot of new restaurants put up and there have been tough competitors, gives you a chance to compare. To reminisce the old times, our family lunch was to dine at Mey Lin. Aside from the usual noodle soups, we ordered Black Tokwa, Pork Blood, Spinach with two eggs, Squid with Special Sauce, Xiao Long Pao, Raddish Cake, Steamed Dumplings, Eggplant in pot, Stir-fried Kidney, and Oyster Omelette. Everything was still good as it used to be. My favorite is the squid with special sauce. I have tried many restaurants, yet only they can produce a good version of this. I also love the condiments they have on the table: unlimited coriander (best to add in oily foods like oyster omelette, to give a fresh taste), chopped chili (to give that extra spice), and one of the yummiest kiamchay (salted preserved vegetables) which is a great add-on to noodle soups. The place is always crowded and full, which is a good sign for business. Staffs are sometimes unpleasant though. Price is okay for the food served. They have parking on the streets and in the basement.
ADDICTING. That’s the only way to describe the Crispy Squid with Special Sauce. Well, it’s not actually squid. It tasted more like cuttlefish. They’re sliced really thin and air-fried to a crisp, then drizzled with some sweet-savory special sauce. Crispy Squid with Special Sauce (PHP 310)
