Fromagerie du Carre d'Or - Nice

My wife loves cheese so we went here as it it close to our hotel by the promenade. Great selection of cheeses. Owner was very friendly, spoke English and advised us on so many different types of cheeses. She let us try every one and helped us vacuum pack it for our journey home. Very well priced and would definitely recommend if you want to take it home or eat right away in Nice.

Walked in, they advised us on cheese from their extensive selection, and recommended a wine pairing. Very friendly and prices were reasonable! The local cheese they helped us choose was delicious. Highly recommend, and will visit again the next time I am in Nice.

This is not a restaurant, but it deserves a listing, since many visitors buy food to take to the beach, on a picnic or to take back to an apartment or hotel-room. If ice-cream shops deserve a listing, so do traiteurs and specialty food shops!The selection of mostly french cheeses is superb, perhaps the largest in the city, with many of the best examples of famous AOC french cheeses. There are many local cheeses as well and many are 'lait cru'. As well they carry wine, Iberian ham and lots of other good things!I live nearby and we regularly treat ourselves to something special, such as the 30-month-old Comté de Noel which is only available at Christmas. The owners are very helpful, generous with tasting portions and speak some English if you need to explain what you want. The shop is closed in the middle of the day, but re-opens at 4 pm. This is the section of Rue de France which is a little east of Rue Gambetta.

Nery’s will vacuum cheese and meat so they can bring them home from their trip to nizza. it makes an excellent gift for friends and family, although we recommended to eat it within 30 days and you could try the cheese before you buy it. the older couple who runs the load is very friendly, patient and with regard to their were knowledgeable. they also have a small selection of crying so that it is a perfect stop shop.
