Restaurant bewertenDelicious food and attentive service. Beautifully tender tandoori lamb, amazing naan, flavourful rices, delicious goat. Fresh and well cooked food in perfect portions with just the right amount of spice. Service bang on with cold glasses for a good choice of beers (and any other...drink you could think of, as well as being BYO for wine). It’s miles above other Indian restaurants nearby.
We were looking, for real, for Hindu vegetarian food. This looked like an option in Goodmayes, Ilford. It was the night before a funeral. Mum did not want to go out. I collected and Bhagwan ji provided a miracle parking. I was 10 15 minutes...late. We could easily have ate there. I liked it so much I stuffed a typical takeout restaurant portion in about 3 4 minutes. Luckily mum had ordered enough for my sister who didn't want any when we ordered and finished it off straight away. It was delicious. Very good. Thanks a lot.
We walked in, and right away we were accorded a warm welcome. We were very graciously guided to a table. We didn't have to wait too long for our order to be served. The food was delicious and authentic Indian in its mix of spices....The owner Javed Khan takes pride in providing both food and service in an impeccable style. His dedication is obvious in the way he keeps an eye for detail, and in the way he interacts with his guests to make them feel at home. Great management of a great team.
Myself, partner and a couple of friends had dinner here last night and left very happy. Beautiful food and attentive and friendly service. The vegan butter chicken is to die for! We will definitely all be back
Very easy to book a table on their website, it's fairly small so there isn't much difference between inside and outside dining, although every table is under cover if it rains. We each ordered a bunch of meals to share, which basically all came at...once. With the rice and naan bread that we ordered, it was a challenge to fit everything on the tables. Some of the dishes we had were the Assamese duck curry, chicken pepper fry, camel curry, beef chutney, and prawn moilee with coconut and turmeric and ginger. Everything had exceptional flavour. The beef was so tender that it melted in your mouth and came with great sauce. The prawn coconut curry was absolutely delicious and my favourite. The duck was tasty and smooth. The camel curry was a bit tangy but still pretty decent. I'm used to eating lots of spicy food so I didn't find it particularly hot, although a few of our group noticed a bit of a spicy kick. The bottles of wine were about a $20 to $30 markup on retail prices but what we ordered was quite nice, and between 3 of us who shared the wine it wasn't too high a cost. I often make an effort to search online while at the table, so be wary of the prices before you choose. I will say that while it didn't dampen the experience, as soon as they handed us the bill they said they needed the table and they didn't allow for more than 3 card separate payments, so at short notice we had to figure out how to split the bill for 7 people with cards and cash and then immediately leave. Also when they asked us if we wanted rice and assorted naan breads, we weren't aware of the cost until the bill came without checking the menu. While it was more of an inconvenience, and they are just a business trying to keep operating after a long lockdown, be mindful of this as well. I don't know if I'd dine here again as it was very noisy and hectic and a bit cramped, but the meals were so delicious I'd definitely consider them for pickup or delivery in the future.
