A total of five friends and I went to Brunch on Sunday. The waiter (Cameron) took our cards/Cash and did the transaction. We left the table to take photos, and the waiter came to find us and told us he pushed the wrong button and our cards were not loaded. He also took cash. We gave our cards, understanding and he came back. A few minutes later he came back and said that the system didn't work and our cards were not charged, so he had to take our cards back. We thought it was easier to put everything on a card, so this time we only gave a card to make the transaction easy for him. He came back with a receipt and a manager who said that they were completely extinguishing everything and that would be the only charge. We all went and soon realized that he charged each card three times (min should be $29 and he calculated me $90 instead). The manager wasn't friendly about the situation and we all tipped. Make sure you go here and always make sure to consider your bank fees.
On June 2nd at 19:15 I invited some friends to join us for dinner at the Coliseum Restaurant. My family and friends and I booked a reservation two weeks ago. We often travel from Texas to Newport Coast. The Pelican Hotel and all its restaurants were a pleasant experience for us. Tonight we had a terrible experience, and I was very disappointed at your service. First, it took half an hour until someone took our order at the table. After that we waited for our food for more than an hour. The medium-heavy meat on my plate was completely boiled, and no one asked if we needed anything else. Three wine glasses are required. It took two attempts to get an answer from the waitress. When I went to the bar, the bartender gave me three wine glasses. No one came to clean the table and prepare it for dessert after we finished eating. Since I had to do it myself, we ordered five coffees and two teas when the dessert arrived. It took two or three times that someone gave my grandmother the heating as she was very sick. When I asked the waitress about the bag, she said she had already given it to you. Something was wrong with our coffee. It was cold, old and delicious. Despite paying more than 250 dollars for the service fee and leaving a tip, I had a disappointing experience in your restaurant tonight. If I have a complaint about a restaurant, I would rather talk directly to the management instead of writing a review. At the Pelican Hotel such things should not happen. In general, I do not write reviews when I have a problem, but I had difficulty contacting the manager of this restaurant.
Great experience overall. Amazing views, well trained, courteous staff and very good food. I like their avocado toast for breakfast and brunch, it comes in 3 different flavors. My favorite is the Aleppo Spiced Yogurt Avocado toast with an egg on top. The Caprese Toast is also good. Definitely a nice experience for the whole family.
We celebrated my 7year old granddaughter birthday. She wanted to go to a 5 star. We made a great choice. Delicious food and gorgeous sunset. Our server was very attentive. We will go back.
