Restaurant bewertenOnly found this place as we went to the salsa lessons which are on on a Monday night, however, it seems to be a little hidden gem. The bar itself is lovely the staff were polite and welcoming the prices for our soft drinks were very resonable, the only reason I haven't marked it full score is we never had food. The salsa night was brilliant as well and we'll definately be trying food in here soon
We visited Oak mid week for dinner after having purchased a Living Social deal 3 courses glass of wine Pimms We were greeted like old friends found the staff to be attentive Ross the perfect host.We opted for homemade fish cakes for starters which were delicious chilli garlic rump steak with homemade chips that simply melted in your mouth as a main.We struggled to fit in desert which was delicious salted caramel , however VERY sweet. We will definetely return and loved the great soul music being played which added to the wonderful atmosphere .Go on , dine at Oak .... You will not regret it !!
Have been going to Oak since it opened great food, reasonable prices, great service, fab music and always a laid back party atmosphere. But I always seem to suffer the next day from a hang over and late night!!
We visited as a group of 4 on a living social deal and had a very enjoyable meal. The restaurant itself has a lovely homely feel with lots of candles around. There was a good choice on the deal, the fishcakes as a starter were delicious. For main course i had the steak and homemade chips with pepper sauce which was really lovely. The pudding choice was also good and portions were very generous. We would certainly try this restaurant again.
My friends and I like trying new places and thought we would try here. We bought a living social deal. This was £46 for 4 people £11.50 each) and entitled us to a 3 course meal and a glass of wine/ sangria/ pimms.Good choice of dishes on the menu. There was the choice of the daily pasta dish, daily risotto, catch of the day and a daily salad. It was a while before we could catch someones eye to ask what these were as they weren't explained to us. Starters came and were all very nice and well presented. We all ordered pies as they all had great reviews. They were nice but I wouldnt say they were stand out pies. Gravy was nice and rich. For puddings my two friends had the brownie which was fresh from the oven and apparently really good. Myself and my other friend had the eaton mess parfait which wasn't to my taste. The staff are lovely, very warm and welcoming. I would return again.
