Restaurant bewertenThis restaurant offers delicious Ecuadorian cuisine for those who truly appreciate traditional dishes. It beautifully combines the flavors of Cuenca and Guayaquil. The encebollado is excellent! I would visit every weekend if it were closer to me. The service is fantastic, and the staff is very friendly. I highly recommend everyone to stop by and try the encebollado mixto!
If you're in need of a cup of coffee, a snack, or a full meal, Ironbound Cafe Restaurant has plenty of options to satisfy your cravings. Everything is fresh and delicious, and I can't wait for my next visit—I'm already thinking about my next meal! The staff is incredibly friendly and attentive, making it definitely deserving of a 5-star review. Just a heads-up: gratuity is included in the bill, which I didn't realize until after I'd tipped again. So yes, I ended up tipping twice!
We ordered the guatita and the baked chicken breast, and both dishes were delicious! I finished all of my bun, which is a rarity for me. There were three medium-sized pieces, and I enjoyed them all—especially with some ketchup! The rice was a bit sticky, but still tasty; I didn’t manage to finish it because I was so busy enjoying my chicken that it ended up getting cold. As for the salad, my father thought it could use a bit of lemon and salt, but I thought it was "fine." I still ate most of it, though. We also tried the morocho to drink, and it was excellent! It tasted really fresh, and I loved the little pieces of morocho in it along with the sprinkle of cinnamon on top—so good! I found it amusing that there were two wash basins outside the bathroom, although there was also one in each bathroom. Overall, I would definitely come back!
A friend and I stopped in here for a bite to eat. I had chicken and shrimp chaulfa. My friend had a grilled chicken salad. Although I thought it was a little overpriced, I was pleased with my plate. The salad didn't look too impressive but he said he enjoyed it. My one recommendation would be that if they have salad on the menu, they offer more than just oil and vinegar as a salad dressing. I believe this may be a cultural thing but not all of their customers are Hispanic and it wasnt a side salad. It was a full meal. I would go back and try other items on the menu. The service was friendly and prompt. The atmosphere as very nice.
Food was good but not great. It took 1hour to get our food so try not to go if you are already starving. Service was lacking!!!Had to ask for the check 3 times and it wasn't even that busy. No one even bother to check on us. We had to keep flagging down the waitress for napkins, more drinks (since we finished them waiting so long), extra plate, etc.. Five people ate a main dish and the bill was OVER $100. Personally, I will try another place next time. We didn't want to try our luck asking for dessert not like it was even offered or suggested.
