Restaurant bewertenWe went there after a long time. It has a large bar counter so easy to find a place (when not too crowded). They have tables also. The stars are due to the excellent bourbon, whiskey and scotch selection they have. The bartender was friendly and patient in helping us try the different bourbons. The drinks were well made. They also have a good beer selection. The food was mixed. The menu was interesting, but it tasted okay. It could use a bit more refinement. Had better bar food.
I have been to this spot in the past before. On this particular evening the first thing I see is a sign saying the credit card machine is down so I could only order drinks with the little cash I had on me. The bartender was so so. I went with a large group and one of the girls order chicken nachos and she said it was nasty mainly because it had the dollop of sour cream on each chip. It didn't look too appealing.
During a recent stay in NJ, my boyfriend and I woke up late one morning and really wanted breakfast. We found Hell's Kitchen on yelp and decided to give it a try. We were car less so we traveled on foot in the rain about a mile. Upon arrival we immediately informed the server that we wanted breakfast and needed to hurry before the kitchen stopped serving breakfast for the day. I told the waitress that I wanted the Rise N Shine Mofo eggs scrambled w/ wheat toast. Then I indicated that we wanted 2 of them (I pointed to my boyfriend) and told her we both wanted the same exact order. She then asked me if I wanted scrambled or over easy. I told her I didn't understand because I already told her we both wanted scrambled. She seemed confused. This was very annoying and I had a feeling she screwed up my very basic order. Our food arrived and of course mine was all wrong. His order was complete. Mine only had scrambled eggs and toast so I sent it back to the kitchen and said this is not what I ordered. The waitress came back over and said she didn't understand, she thought I ordered scrambled eggs. I said no, I even ordered the meal by it's name, the Rise N Shine Mofo. At no point did I say I only wanted scrambled eggs and toast. I honestly don't understand people sometimes. This was a basic item off their menu. How could you screw it up so bad. I finally got my order. It wasn't worth the hassle. Our water was filled up once then we went without drinks until we finished eating because she never came back to check on us. I'm really conflicted on what to rate this place. My first response it 1 Star. Im very disappointed in the service; however, she did not charge me the full amount for my food due to the mistake. This seems like a good place just to get drinks at. If I'm in town again, I won't be ordering food here, but I would stop in for drinks.
I seem to only make it in here on Burlesque Thursdays. That may or may not be intentional. My first time here was for a CMYE (for you non-Yelpers, that's a Community Manager Yelp Event) and that was an absolute blast! My second visit, we declared it an official/unofficial after-party after a Yelp Elite Event. Also a blast! Every other time after that, I don't know, I guess I just love Thursdays? Does it have anything to do with the girls? M-a-y-b-e... So, having only been here on Thursdays, here's what I can say: The burlesque performers and go-go girls do change. I don't know how often they rotate, but I can tell you I haven't' seen the same performer twice. The service can feel a bit slow sometimes, but they're busting ass in there so I'm not mad. And Yelp event or not, they're always friendly. The drinks are made well and the prices are considerably good for being so close to the stadium. There's a nice sized menu of bar food and entrees, but I can't say I love the food. Not all bad though. Overall, I enjoy it here enough to easily become a regular.
I think all of the good reviews are probably for the bar/lounge and not food. But that's my fault for not reading thoroughly. My boyfriend and I came in on a Sunday at around 1, when our first choice, a diner nearby, had a 50 minute wait. So we decided to give Hell's Kitchen Lounge a shot. The first bad sign was when I called and asked how long the wait would be, and they said no wait. During prime brunch hours. The second bad sign was when we walked in and there were 3 tables dining and a few people sitting at the bar. Everyone around us seemed to be doing their boozy brunch option. The third bad sign was the smell. The entire place smelled like a bathroom (although ironically, their bathrooms were really clean and pretty new). But the place itself was super divey. Also, it was in a basement. A little sketch in my opinion. But we were getting hangry so we decided to just go with it. I ordered the tosta mista, which is a pressed ham and cheese panini. It came with some kind of weird tasting cheese on top, which I wasn't a fan of. The best part was probably the huge salad it came with. My boyfriend ordered the eggs benedict, which was less than memorable. It didn't even look too appetizing. I'm pretty sure I wouldn't be in this area at nighttime, so I can't say I would come back. But it does seem like an okay spot for drinks. And by drinks, I mean probably whatever beer they have on tap because he also ordered a bloody mary and it was just not good.
