Piccolo Cafe - Amsterdam Ave - New York

Horrible service. Check your bill two or three times. They charged us tip twice (one in the bill and another one in the credit card receipt). They charged a regular coffee as a cappuccino, a single tomato spaghetti as a spaghetti with meatballs, $9 for two avocado slices on the side...etc. Very limited menu for brunch.

I made a last minute dinner reservation based on the reviews I read on Open Table. Unfortunately, my dining experience was very different than previous reviewers. My family of 4 was squished into a small table, our entrees were slow to come out; the table next to ours were seated later and received their food earlier than us. The food was fair/good, but the portions seemed small especially when plated in a big bowl. Service was spotty; had to request water several times. Did provide takeout boxes for leftovers. As previously noted, dining room is very small. Sorry to say that we probably won't return if we are back in NYC Upper West side.

I love coming to Piccolo. Gianluca is the most gracious host and the food is ALWAYS delicious (I must go back to try the Bowls . Yes! Piccolo Cafe can successfully combine really good homie food with an irresistable menu. You guys make UWS dinning experience even more desirable, THANK YOU.

Unfortunately, my culinary experience was very different from previous reviewers. my family was lined into a small table, our escapes were slowly coming out; the table next to us sat later and got her eating sooner than we did. eating was fair/good, but the portions seemed small, especially when plated in a large bowl. service was dirty; had to request water several times. has provided take-out boxes for rest. as already mentioned, dining room is very small. I'm sorry to say that we probably don't come back when we're back in nyc upper west side.
