Mexicue - New York

Unfortunately, it seemed the host, a tall gentleman, mistook me for someone else who had checked in earlier. He insisted that I had approached him twice, which was a surprise to me. Before I could clarify the misunderstanding, he became confrontational, raised his voice, and commented on my demeanor. He even suggested that if I didn’t like the situation, I could leave. His aggression was unnecessary, and he wouldn’t allow me to explain myself. Despite my efforts to deescalate the situation, he only became more agitated and caused quite a scene. Considering he was quite young, I decided it was best to walk away rather than escalate things further. After that unpleasant experience, I chose to close out my tab. It’s unfortunate because the restaurant appeared to be a lovely place, and the bartender was fantastic. I usually don’t write reviews like this, but I feel it’s unacceptable for staff to yell at customers, especially over a case of mistaken identity. I won’t be returning. I attempted to speak with the manager but was informed by the co-host that she was busy, so I felt it was best to share my experience here in hopes she becomes aware of this issue.

Overall, I've had better Mexican food at other places, but this restaurant wasn't bad. The seasonal taco was quite good, and the grilled broccoli was enjoyable. The nachos were tasty, but the Mexican street corn was just average.

The food was delicious and reasonably priced. The atmosphere was relaxed, with plenty of outdoor seating available. Our server, Victor, was friendly and made our experience enjoyable. I would definitely return!

As a Californian I would normally turn my nose into the thought of having Mexican food in new york city. most of my experiences in this vene were disappointing. but mexicue was a nice take. my margarita was strong, but tasty. and the two vegetarian tacos I tried the deep-fried avocado and the drawn mushroom grill, both were delicious for the sensual. vegetarian mexican grill: their mindful worth.

This is myself and boyfriend's favorite place to go when we ate downtown shopping .... Staff is always pleasant , food is always great.
