Restaurant bewertenWas immediately turned off by hostess. We had reservation for 2 people. She looked annoyed and nodded toward table between 8 women sitting outside and a group of 8 people. Never gave us menu, never asked if table ok. I realize a sports bar, so assumed high noise level, but couldn't get past hostess. Regular wait staff was fine.
While the color changing lights worked for the bar, they were totally out of place in the library dining area. Extensive bar but no signature cocktails. The server, Mitch, was friendly but often missing. The chicken schnitzel was good but could have been spiced more. The burgers and onion rings were very good.
McGettigan's has a nice atmosphere with plenty of HD tv's all around. The Manager/Owner was very nice with changing the channel to my liking as I came to watch the Rangers game. Drinks were good and cheap during happy hour. Only thing I didn't like was the sliders that I ordered. They were very plain and too dry for my liking. I think $14 for 3 sliders is a bit steep as well. I pay $2.50 per slider which is substantially better tasting in other places. Overall, the place is great and I will definitely be back for another game. Rangers Won!!
Great place for meeting friends for a sporting event. Service was very good and prices were fair for Mid-Manhattan. Would return to this pub again. In the land of many Irish Pubs, this was a good find. Been there before and will return next trip to NYC.
We dined in this restaurant on our First Night in New York. We got 3 starters between 4 of us. Nacho's are huge. Chicken wings are devine as were the Onion Rings. We all ordered burhers for main course. Pulled Pork was beautiful as was the Southern Fried Chicken. Portion size is huge again. Brillant food, brillant atmosphere and brillant service and friendly staff. We returned for nipples on our third night and just ordered a variety of starters. Staff (Kilkenny guy) was very friendly and welcoming. We were well looked after. Would recommend this restaurant and would definitely return when next back in New York.
