Restaurant bewertenWe had a nice time at our first visit to la bonne soupe. it was a busy pre-theatre time and the staff was somewhat stressed, but remained pleasant. for me, the Entree selections were limited – fat meat dishes or sandwiches were the most important choices. I finished the addition of salmon to a Caesar salad – a little boring. the salmon was nicely boiled, the salad was drowned in the dressing and had to be cut with knife and fork. on the positive side were the oysters, mush and ducks, enjoyed by others, good choices. the prices are competitive for the neighbourhood.
La Bonne Soupe does a fantastic job of presenting classic French dishes. All ingredients and dishes are fresh, service is impeccable and prices are low given the neighborhood and the quality of food. I go there for lunch regularly and recommend heartily. Only criticism is that the decor is a bit tired, but ... c'est la vie, and for me offset and then some by the quality of food and service.
The best spot in midtown. Incredible French cuisine in a casual atmosphere. Great for lunch alone or a large group for dinner.
Nice restaurant. The croque madame was delicious as was the salad that comes with it. Make a reservation or you might have to wait.... especially around Christmas time.
We had a wonderful dinner! Everything we ordered was delicious—definitely the best French onion soup we've ever had, the burger was fantastic, and my daughters absolutely loved the fondue.
