Restaurant bewertenIn a city where you regularly have very good cocktails for $12 $14, a bar that cost $20 for a single cocktail, had better serve a phenomenal drinking experience, no matter how iconic or immersive the 30s environment. I just didn't think the cocktails were so good compared to other cocktails I had at the same (absolutely ridiculous) price. I started with a Sazerac, of course, that is one of my favorite cocktails ever and one that I ordered in many cities, but NoLa is his birthplace and the bar called Sazerac, I expected this to be Mindblowing. It wasn't. It tasted like a whisky on the rocks. No anise, no hint of sweetness from the sugar cube. Then I got a second cocktail I can't remember that it was so insignificant, I think it was her answer to an espresso martini and the same problem. It was all spirit and ice. And I like spirits, but... it's not a cocktail if that's all you can taste. I had a lot more complex and well rounded Espresso Martinis. I tried my friend's cocktails and it was more the same. Our cocktail waitress was beautiful and the room itself was cool AF so it still gets 3 stars. They basically pay for the real estate. If you decide to go, I recommend ordering a very simple drink and maintaining it.

Popped in to check out the bar when my schedule was empty for an afternoon, and so glad I did.Cosy place cocooned from the crowd where I could nurse my drinks in peace whilst working quietly. Both bartenders and wait staff provided excellent service.
You bet that if I'm in New Orleans I'm going to go to a bar named The Sazerac Bar.It's located off Canal Street in The Roosevelt Hotel and used to be called The Main Bar. The hotel actually purchased the rights from The Sazerac Company to use its name for their bar which was a cool tidbit. When you walk in you see a bunch of lounge seating on the left and a long bar top on the right. They do not have reservations.My first drink was of course the sazerac $20) which was stiff and strong but delicious and what you'd expect from the sazerac. My second drink was the ramos gin fizz $24) which seemed like a steep price but you'll know why when you see the bartender spending a couple minutes alone just shaking your drink. When the bartender poured the drink, it stood up straight as it came out above the top of the glass which was a beautiful sight. It was worth the wait because it was probably the best ramos gin fizz I've had and the most accurate-looking one I've seen. It was creamy from the milk and tart from the citrus; it was very easy to drink.It was a very relaxing and intimate setting and made for a great time. Even if you're not staying at the hotel, you can still feel like a million bucks if you make a stop here.
Located on the first level of The Roosevelt Hotel. It is an absolutely lovely atmosphere. Very intimate and the drinks are delicious. We had the pleasure of sitting beside a father and son visiting from London. We tried the Brown Derby, French 75, and the Mayan Mocha.
