Restaurant bewertenMy mom wanted a 1:45 Mother's Day reservation. I made one. We went right after church and arrived at 12:45. We couldn't walk the shops because it was cold and raining and she's 88. I appealed to the host and he made accommodations for us. The hostess met us at the back door and seated us so we didn't have to traverse the restaurant. The service and the food was very good. It was a great Mother's Day dinner experience.
This was my second experience. The first being with my husband was really nice. Really bad. I had scallops. They were barely warm. They were not cooked correctly and they were bland. The quinoa lacked flavor. The snap peas were overcooked. My friend had the ribs. I was shocked that they were stringy. Her vegetables were really overcooked. My other friend had steak frites that she absolutely loved. They had drinks from the bar that were returned and exchanged for water and ginger ale. I had the cake flight for dessert. The chocolate cake and coconut cake were good. The other two cake samples were undoubtedly stale. My friend had the flourless chocolate cake, it was rated good as was the crème brûlée. Dennis the waiter was engaging and attentive. Our table had leftovers. We EACH left our left over food, to says the least. It was the first time for my friends who vowed never to return.
I was very disappointed by my recent experience at Earls. I have been once before and had wonderful service as well as great food, but this time was different.I found the hostess (believed manager or wearing a different uniform) to be somewhat rude. He seemed aggravated when I asked if they had a table for 2 since it was lunch time and they had a lot of reservations. I would’ve been entirely fine with him saying there was no space or a wait, but instead he said “well I have 165 people coming in soon and it’s busy time, I can try to fit you in at this one table,” begrudgingly. I understand being busy, but you should not give attitude to patrons who are wanting to come in. I would have kindly waited or went somewhere else if they were full.I ordered a chicken sandwich and was served the picture attached…. To me the chicken was undercooked and not safe to eat. I have never sent food back before and hate to be difficult but was concerned if I consumed it. I politely sent the chicken back and the waitress obliged. She brought me a new chicken sandwich that was cooked, which was appreciated. I am mildly disappointed they did not offer to comp the meal; I understand not compensating meals that customers do not like or have already eaten partially, but to me this was completely unsafe to eat and no portion of it was consumed. No one else addressed this issue or acknowledged the chicken not being safe to eat besides being brought a new sandwich. The ice cream was very delicious, but I do not plan on returning unfortunately.
The strawberry festival was going on so even though had an early reservation, so as we ate the bar was starting to get pretty full and since was sitting right off it did get a tad noisier. We both had the filet, which was cooked perfectly, was very tasty, and a well plated meal almost a shame to cut into. I will go there again next time I'm in Lahaska
Ordered their grill cheese which was a special for the strawberry festival. Mozzarella and strawberry jam on brioche bread. It was 98 percent bread. One slice of cheese and a dab of jam. Did not enjoy it.
