Restaurant bewertenWe found Pablo last weekend in New Farm and had Sunday brunch. Good food served in an interesting way complemented by good coffee and friendly service. The place is small - just two rooms basically - and it can be crowded but that adds to its charm. A good place to go if you want something a little different.
Pablo has been a New Farm local for ages, always with a good reputation, however I'd never got around to visiting until this week! The cafe was busy and bustling, menu's and coffees came out quickly and were excellent. The food however took around 45mins to arrive. I had the Green eggs which was a pesto, egg, avo dish. It was good, lots of flavours and good portion size. Given the wait however, it probably wasn't impressive enough. A nice enough little cafe, but probably wouldn't rush back. It must be hard for Brisbane cafes now with so many great options around!
The food here is great. Service was absolutely shocking. It took an hour for our food to come and they forgot one of our drinks. We the asked again 20minutes later. The lady and gentleman who was servicing us were so rude. All I needed was for them to tell us that there might be a little wait on food but they completely avoided us and didn't apologise for the food and drinks that took an hour. It was also a public holiday so there was a 15% surcharge on the bill. We said to them that we didn't feel the service was good enough for us to justify that. They said they took it off and we realised once we left that they actually hadn't. We will not be coming back here which is such a shame as it use to be such a good place.
We came here the third time and this was the last time we gave Pablo a chance. The service in general is pretty slow and don't pay much attention on couples ( more attention to singles or ladies). There were 2 tables available outside and we kindly ask if you could take a seat. The waiter just said that other people are waiting and he will let us know ( there was no one waiting except us and he just ignored us). We kindly ask again another waiter ( I guess he is the owner) who kindly gave us one of the available tables outside. They forgot one of our drink orders and the coffee arrived after 20 minutes waiting. The food is pretty good but its not worth it with the service and atmosphere. Won't go back.
A search of best coffee Brisbane close to the city found me here. Very quiet on arrival at 8am Sunday morning but queues out the door by 8.30! Great menu with some different dishes. Flavours were amazing. Coffee great. Service friendly but way too slow. 45 minute wait for meal and 20 minutes for takeaway coffee for drive home
