Restaurant bewertenAfter an effort to get here looking forward to lunch we were met by a nice waiter who made every effort to clean down our area make us comfortable on a very nice balcony with elevated views of the Alpujarras, all of this deserves a 5 star review. Sadly the food didn't measure up at all with terribly presented overpriced Bocadillos poorly filled in stale bread. We sent them back and they were atleast replaced without argument and with fresh however no better filled or presented dry without taste, not sure who was making the food but it says something if the chef can't even make a nice sandwich thus leading to a disappointing lunch in the mountains. Also no running water or soap for washing hands in the gents loos.
Called this evening for evening meal. Really looking forward to some tasty Spanish delicacies and decided to be adventurous! Went for the Plato combinada at 10€. This is what came!!!!!! Fried pork escalope, fried egg and chips not even seasoned!!!! Go next door instead!! The food there is so much better!!
Food is good, staff very pleasant. Salad was very good, bit more imaginative than usual. Easy to find on the edge of town next to the petrol/gas station.
We stopped en route back to the coast after a stay in the Alpujarras, and it happened to be there when we needed to stop for lunch. We just had the Menu del dia €12.50 all in), but the standard was high. Try the Arroz Negro with squid ink as a very filling) starter, Pork chop and Honey Flan if they're on offer.
Attention, bikers! This is your best shot if you enter the region of the Alpujarras from Guadix Almería highway (A92). After all the twists and turns and a modest mountain pass you'll get to a place, where they know what a hungry man needs! My choice was a cream soup and a huge plate of lamb chops. Both were delicious. Costed 20 euros, which is modest, given the quality and the quantity. And on top of that a superb mountain view!
