Browns Socialhouse - Nanaimo

Thought the food was very good and the waitstaff very friendly and helpful. French dip sandwich was great.

Browns Socialhouse in Nanaimo North is a cozy, friendly little place to relax and enjoy a fine meal. I started with the crunchy spicy tuna tacos, which were tasty and had a satisfying amount of crunch. My entrée was the steak sandwich, which was an unexpected delight. The steak was cooked to perfection and was one of the most flavorful and tender cuts of beef I've ever had, which is not something I would have expected from your average steak sandwich. I would love to see them prepare a proper steak dinner, with that entree being a strong indication of those abilities. Dessert was an Oreo Jar, a Oreo cheesecake in a Mason jar, which was velvety smooth, rich, with a crunchy Oreo base. Definitely worth going again. Have since tried their burgers and pizza, both of which were well above average.

Service was great but food was not so nice. simply average. we did not enjoy pretty noisy environment. food on similar level as fast food.

Brown's Social House has a bit of an upscale menu however, it has a bar atmosphere. Fairly noisy and busy - lot of bar activity. Food is good but along the lines of Earl's and Cactus Club.
