1862 Wine Bar & Grill - Mount Gambier

A lovely little place to eat. The meat lovers plate for two was SO yummy and so well cooked. Also large, so go with a good appetite and no need for entree or dessert.

Don't need to say to much as that is exactly the amount of feedback we got from the chef after our steaks were ruined. #rudechef #learnhowtocookasteak

Came here for dinner after a few recommendations from locals. The service wasn't bad and the wine list pretty good. I had the fish and I was pleasantly surprised. However after seeing a few other dishes go out and a few photos from other reviewers, my view is perhaps they could use a little less garnish and maybe slightly smaller plates. Again just my opinion

Service was really great. The dining room was very nice and clean but was just too cold for me and yes, I did have plenty of clothes on.My Steak was Med/well but I thing it was Well done and too dry. the add on Salad and Chips were yummy.My Husband's King George Whiting was rather tiny for the price. We considered the meal was a bit pricey.

Went in for a couple drinks on a stop over driving from Adelaide before we crashed or the night. The place looked beautiful, tbh we looked on here and saw the inconsistency with the food so we decided to stick to drinks. Limited drinks menu should probably be looked at and refreshed if you want to continue calling yourself a wine bar.
