Restaurant bewertenI tried this restaurant a few months ago with a friend and we both loved our experience. The food was awesome and the service was also great. They also have a "late" menu at a fixed price of 35 $ which is interesting. It's also a bring your own wine so no overpriced wine list to deal with. Great quality of food. There are a lot of good restaurants on Fleury but we'll definitely be back at Le Millen.
Decided to try this BYOW with our friends last Saturday. We tried the $54.00 “tasting” menu; which was comprised of an amuse-bouche; for the life of me, I cannot remember what is was, an entrée; marinated salmon, trou-normand; lime sorbet in a shot of vodka, the main course; a beef contre-filet (which added and extra $10.00) and a dessert; a sort of deconstructed crumble with a compote and mousse, alright, but nothing to write home about. I had the coquille St-Jacques as entrée and duck breast for the main course. All of the plates were lovely to look at, but not very tasty. I found my entrée bland and chilly. There were too many ingredients in a tiny little shell and I think that by the time everything was put in said shell, it was no longer hot. The duck breast was not tender at all, very chewy. The contre-filet was okay, but the roasted potatoes were horrible. We had also asked that the contre-filet not be served with the sour cream mentioned in the menu. However, it was served with the sour cream and the server told us it was just on the side…… not really touching the meat…… To me there were too many dissimilar tastes that did not necessarily suit being together in each dish. Some flavours overwhelming and others hardly discernable. Lastly, I really dislike when I am handed a bill and there is a suggestion of how much I should tip…… I find that tasteless.
Absolutely delicious! We had the tasting menu and everything we had was divine, from the foie gras to the crème brûlée... but the sweetbreads were the pièce de résistance. Unfortunately, the service was lacking. Our server forgot to bring our Trou Normand, but we only realized at the very of our meal. The place is small and cozy, so I would suggest making a reservation beforehand. And don't forget to BYOB! I definitely recommend Le Millen to anyone who loves French cuisine.
We went there for brunch on a quiet Sunday morning...Decor: very small restaurant, colourful plastic chairs (not very comfortable according to my friend) and a wooden bench (this was comfortable), lots of light, white walls.Noise level: very calm since we came in at 10 am. We were the only clients for most of our meal. The music was loud enough to create atmosphere but not loud enough to deter conversation.Service: attentive, friendly, fast. Very good!Food: I ordered "la tarte fine" which was a round of puff pastry garnished with sauteed mushrooms and spinach on top of which was a poached egg. The dish was complemented with a bright and lemony hollandaise and fresh herbs. I loved it! My friend had "les oeufs en croûte de panko", eggs in a panko crust on top of an asparagus foam and shrimps. He liked the separate components but said the egg didn't go with the rest of the dish.Verdict: I will go back!
The portion sizes were generous. The flavors were very good. I would definitely recommend it.
