Restaurant bewertenBeen here over 25 times and never had a bad meal the plates are full to capacity and tasteful great for family or just couples
We went here as a group of about 25 people after my grandfather's funeral. We had a whole room reserved for our group and the waiter, Marc, was very patient and helpful throughout the 3 or so hours we spent there. I had the calamari on the lunch menu and my wife ordered the fillet mignon. The filet mignon was tender and cooked to perfection(medium rare as requested) and my calamari was cooked just right, not rubbery at all. At this location they also have a soup and salad bar included with the meal with choices such as lentil or cream of spinach soup (depends on the day) as well as chick pea, shrimp and pollock salads. The dessert was a red velvet cake which was a little dry for my taste. Overall a very good experience and one of the better ones I've had in a Casa Grecque over the many years I've frequented this chain.
So I went a couple of days ago with my boyfriend and his grandparents and the waiter that served us was extremely impatient and rude with us, specially to the grandparents, he didn't even let them finish talking when they had a question about the menu. When my boyfriend's grandfather was paying the bill, he gave the waiter a 50$ gift card and he wanted to pay the rest with his card, the waiter literally took the card from him, and put it in his pocket, he then tried to steal 20$ more by overcharging them in his card. We found it odd, so we brought another waiter, we asked him about the extra charge and he was a bit confused, and at that moment waiter number 1 comes back and he asks waiter number 2 to leave, because "he is handling the situation"... he then plays it cool ("oh my god, I didn't even noticed, thanks for letting me know"... yeah right) and he then throws the 20$ bill on the table, as if he was doing my boyfriend's grandfather a favour by giving him back the money he just tried to stole from him (?) The food is not bad but that waiter was sketchy and rude.
Great place for a lunch meeting: salad bar is a great choice, and the soup is always good. The lunch menu includes the salad bar and a desert
I live near by and have probably been to casa grecque over 100 times in the 30 years it's been here. It's not my favorite restaurant but it's decent and consistent. The salad bar is basic, salad, bean salads, shrimp salad, cob salad and a bunch of individual vegetables to make your own salad. There's usually 2 soups, usually a cream of something and a minestrone or lentil soup. The soups have always been great. Check for special, they always have deals, either 2 meals for 24$ or any choice of meal for 17$.....they changed their policy over the year. It used to be salad with any meal but now it doesn't apply to all specials so the salad bar is I think 3$ extra. Their chicken, steaks... Always been great for us. Bottom line, it's good for a regular family meal. Alot of people go there for family birthdays, the restaurant is large and they can cater to give you a whole section. There's also a hall upstairs for bigger events. Can't comment on that, I've never been.
