Restaurant bewertenIt was fair. I know they want it to be amazing but our party of 3 spent $400+ and they need bigger portions better service to justify that price. We were 5 minutes late for our reservation (because we couldn’t figure out the best place to park and ended up having to walk through the casino (poor signage). They had us wait 25 minutes for a table though they weren’t busy. Then we sat at the table for 10 minutes before we were even acknowledged. And, that was by a different server who finally offered us water saying our actual server would be by soon. That shouldn’t happen in a place like this. We waited a long time for our entrees as well. The food was tasty but the portions were small and unremarkable. The best part of our meal was the apple pie warm in a cast iron with ice cream- which we were told isn’t even a regular on the menu.
Best meal in the area. Service was perfect. Polenta was astonishingly good and the spaghetti was a lesson in Joe the simplest dishes are elevated by high quality ingredients.
I don 't think I 'd ever been turned down by a restaurant before the kitchen has even closed. This happened to us last night when we came in for our 9:00 reservation- I had called the hostess ahead of time to apologize and let her know we were running a tad late, as we are not from the area and were coming all the way from Plattsville area (over 1hr drive). Hostess on the phone said, Absolutely, not a problem. HOW IS IT then that when I arrive at 9:30, hostess has gone home for the night clearly, and nobody including the grumpy bartender greets us as we walk in. Some guy from the kitchen came out and rudely said to us You should 've came earlier then, because we only do appetizers right now . I 'm appalled. I work as a bartender in this industry, and especially for a place that is not open every night of the week, similar to mine, turning down business seems outrageous to me. I 'll give it another try next time I 'm upstate, albeit with a slightly salty taste in my mouth from this experience. Cellaio 's: don 't tell customers your kitchen closes at 10 when it doesn 't, and people travel from very far to eat there!!!
This place looks the part, but does not deliver when it comes to good food. We had to wait a half an hour for a table in an establishment that was mostly empty after 9pm. Made no sense, but we were given the last seating time and sat at the bar till they were ready. We order 2 expresso martinis and we both received some of the worst drinks weve ever had. So we understood that the bartenders were probably better at making drinks that were probably ordered more routinely, so we ordered a gin and tonic and I got a shots from there on out. Spent 20$ expresso martinis were that bad? We were waiting for so long, and no one bothered to tell us if our table was ready. We had to go an ask and they were like, oh yeah something is available. That being said the service people at the front and the servers were very polite and helpful. We ordered a salad, a chicken dish and scallops. Salad was drenched in dressing and was ok. Chicken was so dry. Scallops barely had any taste. Subpar food experience and complete was of money to go here.
We dine here a few times a year while visiting family in the Catskills. It's always a much looked forward to meal. Last night we had Rudy as our server and he was absolutely fantastic. Steaks were perfectly cooked and my wife loved her chicken dish. Great experience as always!
