Sushi On Garfield - Monterey Park

I went to order to go yesterday the food was delicious and fresh but you website is not working not even can open please double check your website I like to check the menu and order again

Had a random sushi craving and wanted something that I can eat and work at the same time so I decided to give this place a try. It's within walkable distance from my work so it was great. Never seen this place as there is not signage up front other than a banner on their window. It's located RIGHT next door to the car wash. Parking is available on the street or on fernfield, they have a small lot. I had called in my order at 3:46pm thinking my order might be ready within 10-15 minutes but said my order wasn't ready until 4:30pm. I didn't think it was an accurate time so I decided to come early at 4pm and they definitely weren't ready. My order was 15 mins earlier than their quoted time. Expect to call in ahead before your lunch. Even a gentleman who walked in wanted veggie tempura and was quoted 20 mins so he even left. I ordered the salmon sashimi bowl and spicy tuna roll since I've heard their spicy tuna is really good. Their food definitely was made fresh. My spicy tuna was not the typical red color. It was a bright pink color that was abnormal from what I'm used to but it didn't stop me from devouring it. Texture is well minced and didn't have a fishy taste. I would say that it did not taste like spicy tuna. No spicy flavor what so ever for me so could explain the neon pink color. Rice to fish ratio was great and roll was quite big. I didn't even eat the roll with soysauce or wasabi which made it that good. Their salmon sashimi bowl was even better. Salmon nigiri was generously sliced. The rice definitely was different from the roll. The lemon slice complements the vinegar rice soo well. Overall would definitely try again. I will call in ahead next time to ensure my food will be ready in time.

This place has good California rolls, crunchy rolls and spicy tuna rolls (spicy tuna rolls looks very different from other places but taste great and at unbeatable price! They have a few other sushi options but very few and not better than others however, the 3 types of rolls they specialized in are great! They open at noon which is a little late because you still have to wait a long while after you place the order (if you are able to get through . We recently ordered 4 platters and got through a few minutes after opening (approx 12:04 but pick up time estimated was between 2:30-3:30pm. They were done right before the 2:30pm time. We didn't mind the wait and we enjoyed the food and price. Happy with our purchase experience. Forgotten to take pictures but they look like all the other photos posted by other reviewer :

Not fresh at all.We wasted $50 worth of food didn't even eat at all. Tasted old the salmon and the sushi.

Went into store right at opening minutes and did a walk-in order for salmon sashimi bowl and an 8-pc California roll. Noticed that I was the 4th order for the day and was given a wait time of 30 minutes. Phone was also constantly ringing.Nonetheless, food was delicious, portions were generous, and price was affordable for the quality. Expect a wait time of 30 minutes to 1 hour, maybe a bit more. Give some grace as it is just a one-person operation.Happy eating! ?
