West Food - Mobile

This was my first time dining here, and I had heard rumors that it was too crowded, poorly managed in terms of reservations, and that they often ran out of meat. However, all of that couldn't be further from the truth! Our table was ready right on time, and the service and dining experience were exceptional. I can confidently say that we will be regulars from now on!

Lived in new orleans and new york city, this restaurant would go well in any place. the crumb cake was moist and full of crumbs, the sea scales were excellent and the steak was perfectly cooked and served with a very tasty garlic of kartoffel and asparagus. the hit butter for the brot was properly served and was excellent. the service was neither perfunctory nor resigned, the service was good.

Service was perfunctory and resigned, not poor but not engaged. Tuna app was reasonable. Scallop with risotto was very much over priced for value. Sadly, the lobster pasta was simply awful. Small portion of woefully over cooked, rubbery lobster devoid of any redemption. If this were served in NOLA or New York or Toronto, I would have sent it back. Wine selection is poorly presented and staff isn 't versed in any training for assistance. Was expecting much better than value received for spent. Room was loud, did I mention it was LOUD? Volume from piped in music was offensive in Db and in choice of music from purported higher end dining. Edit: West, name not provided on a private number, called me this morning to talk about this review. In reality it was for him to say that I 'd s..t on everything '. There was no discussion or conversation to resolve the concerns. Clearly we won 't be back nor recommend this restaurant.

Both the food and cocktails were superb--no room for improvement. Unfortunately that was marred by the ambience--the choice and loudness of the music was distracting--and the service was slow and unequal to the menu.

My wife and I had a great time enjoying the beef filet and a delicious pasta dish with lobster. The atmosphere was friendly and vibrant.
