The Smack Shack Bloomington

The lobster guacamole was overly acidic, making it difficult to finish. Additionally, the mussels were not cleaned properly before preparation; every single one was gritty and it felt like I was eating sand. The shrimp was also overwhelmed by Old Bay seasoning. I ordered a mai tai with regular rum, but they served it with coconut rum instead. I usually visit this restaurant every year for my birthday with my family, but this year's experience was definitely subpar.

I absolutely love this restaurant and the wait staff here is fantastic! The mussels have changed since my last visit, which influenced my ratings. I truly enjoy Smack Shack; everything on the menu is delicious!

Food was good as always, but service was extremely poor. Very few chickens from the waitress and even when some of our food didn’t show up, she didn’t come over to tell us what was going on had to chase down another waitress and eventually she came over. They took items off the bill to compensate, but still made for pretty unhappy dining experience on New Year’s Day. And the restaurant at the time was not very busy.

Great place to ring in the new year. Everyone had fun and everything tasted fine. One suggestion is tone down the heat on the calamari. Quick service for NYE. Thanks!

Good experience and always consistent. The lobster boil was delicious but not quite a $60 value.
