We stayed here and had the most amazing time! Just wanted to say thanks to everyone who looked after us Locky and Atlanta who served us are carvery we so friendly and helpful especially with our allergies. Sally who served are breakfast was amazing! The housekeepers who serviced are room Becky And the guys who looked after us during are stay in the restaurant Harry,Libby, Amelia and Amy! What amazing team you guys have here couldn’t have done more for us!!! We will be back very soon!
Came here for dinner on a wet miserable evening , was met by the host after a long wait although the restaurant was very quiet. The service was mega slow but it didn’t affect the food quality. The food is always cooked to perfection here from the times I have been previously. Would definitely return again.
Firstly I am not one to complain. In fact only a few weeks ago we ate here with family for our wedding anniversary and it was faultless a really good night. However my wife wanted to take me here tonight for my 61st birthday, a real treat considering I have just been in hospital for 10 days, and so was really looking forward to a good night out. This was pre booked, and upon arrival we were seated near the bar, not in the restaurant area. I got some drinks from the bar and we waited to have our food order taken. And waited, and waited. After hearing a nearby customer comment that they’d been waiting ages and were starving , my wife approached a member of staff in the bar area and asked if somebody was going to take our order, and she was told we had to order at the bar! We pointed out that we did not prebook to be sitting in a bar area and not even giving our food orders to a waitress. I could have done this at our local, but we wanted the excellent experience we had received only 3 weeks prior. Finally we were moved upon our request to another sticky) table in the restaurant area, hoping to get better service. By this time we were quite hungry. We gave our order to the waitress who said she would remember it. We waited at least 20 more minutes to get the starters, and when the waiter guy delivered it, there was some confusion over what we had ordered but we took it anyway, and ate it quite rapidly. Hadn’t eaten since lunch, but we still had to wait another half hour for the steaks. Which weren’t cooked right. Mine was rare and quite gristly so I did not really enjoy. But ate it anyway. The wife was not happy as this was meant to be her treat for me. We decided to leave the desserts purely because we just didn’t want to hang about. Paid the bill did think about walking out) but then thought better of it. Won’t be going back now, not going to take the chance. It is very hard to imagine how an establishment can be brilliant one minute and then make you feel like you don’t want to be there only 3 weeks later! Pity as we are locals and needed a decent restaurant to go to regularly. And what’s with the sticky tables, apparently they have to use a certain cleaning fluid! But when I was in hospitality we never had this problem. As we left another punter was heard to say sarcastically that at last her food had arrived!!!!
Had an excellent stay at the fisherman’s cot, everything from booking the room to breakfast and to dinner and to check out was outstanding! Nothing was too much trouble for anyone, thank you team cot
