Restaurant bewertenCozy, trendy eatery with decent service. Be aware of the incense stick burning inside the entrance near the table by the front door if you are allergic to fragrance or perfume smoke. Unfortunately, the shallow seafood paella was overly salty. But they were able to accommodate a shrimp allergy. Excellent charcoal oysters with Japanese broth, and excellent octopus carpaccio with garbanzo bean puree. Interesting cold tomato soup with Dijon ice cream. Clams are okay, nicely umami. They added bread to the order without checking with us. Great orange wine by the glass. Rich and chocolatey ganache dessert topped with crostini. I had mentioned my birthday on the Resy reservation but they didn't mention or celebrate. The bill does not include gratuity nor any pressure to tip so we left 20%. Definitely would recommend for a fun night out.
We went out for happy hour with friends and ended up staying for a three hour dinner! We had delicious appetizers such as the charred oysters great flavor and presentation and clams! The tomato bread was so crunchy and the sardine was full of flavor! We ended up splitting 3 bottles of nice Spanish white wines and the mushroom paella. Overall the dining experience was fantastic, casual yet feels like fine dining because of the excellent food, creativity in the menu, and the outstanding service! NIU kitchen is my new favorite neighborhood restaurant if you want to have a great meal and enjoy the company! Highly recommend it!
I was recommended NIU by some locals while visiting miami and I’m glad we were able to get a reservation. Food was unique and delicious. Bronzino was some of the best I’ve ever had. Very nice wine selection as well. Staff was very kind and made excellent recommendations that made our dinner a great experience.
A refined, flavorful experience available in downtown Miami, NIU Kitchen offers a variety of unique tapas specifically designed for sharing between small groups of people in a cozy, modern environment. The menu is creative and offers high quality servings of popular and somewhat experimental dishes at an upper middle tier of pricing. MAKE RESERVATIONS. We were somewhat lucky to walk in. They seated us, but did state that we 'd need to finish within an hour to make room for those with reservations. We saw other couples try, and they were turned away. It is not a large establishment. Service speed was pretty quick. We finished in just short of an hour, probably fifty minutes, and that didn 't leave us feeling rushed because the food and drink were served rather promptly. For our appetizer: A savory octopus carpaccio served over garbanzo bean paste with apple aioli, and lemon zest. The octopus was wonderfully tender. Entrees: Our favorite: Ous Deliciously creamy creation with poached egg, truffled potato foam, jamón ibérico, and black truffle. The bread it was served with was great on its own, but the egg and truffled potato foam sent this dish into the stratosphere...and our bellies. Clams 'Deme 's Mom 's Recipe ' Open whole shell clams in a delicious sauce composed of jamón ibérico, tomato sofrito, picada sauce, and sherry vinegar. They 're perfect. I just preferred the ous. We did not try dessert, but I can only assume the flavors would be just as nuanced and the creations just as brilliantly rendered as the appetizers and entrees proved to be. They offered wine and beer, but we did not explore the variety. We drank a bottle of sparkling water with wedges of lime.
Incredible food, and excellent wine pairings! I felt very welcomed and had a great experience. Thank you again for the wonderful evening!
