Restaurant bewertenThe restaurant is a disaster. I ordered for pickup, arrived on time, but they said my order would be ready soon, indicating it had just started cooking. Poorly managed with no organization and little experience. I will never go back again.
I love the food at this restaurant, this is my second time dining here. The service was a bit slow, so I ended up taking my food to go. It was delicious and I will definitely be returning again.
Unfortunately, it seems that this amazing suburban restaurant has closed its doors. I tried calling ahead to confirm they would be open on Friday, May 5th (Batalla de Puebla, not Independence Day), but kept getting disconnected or cut off. I ended up having non-Mexican food on Friday, but on Saturday night, I drove over to place an order and found an empty store. It's a real shame, as this restaurant was the only place I knew of that offered authentic Mexican cuisine, as opposed to Tex-Mex fast food, outside of Coral Gables or Coconut Grove. I wonder if the other two restaurants will maintain the same quality now that the Mexican chef brothers have sold their business. I hope someone will continue their legacy and offer the same fantastic, unadulterated flavors of Mexico.
The Queso Chorizo Fundido looked appetizing, but when it arrived, it was as hard as a cement block. After asking the waiter how to eat it, he acknowledged its firmness but said that's how it's served. I had to ask twice to have it replaced, and even then I was still charged for it. Despite clearly stating that I didn't want guacamole or sour cream, my Burrito Norteño arrived with both. The Margaritas were satisfactory, but they were served in a tall glass with ice instead of a traditional Margarita glass. The restaurant lacked placemats, tablecloths, and plates for chips and appetizers, forcing me to use a napkin. I dined alone near a TV, but was asked to move to accommodate a larger party, even though the restaurant was otherwise empty. The total cost for a disappointing meal was over $50. I give the food, service, and ambiance a generous one-star rating each. I will not be returning.
Overall, this restaurant is quite good. I ordered a chicken quesadilla and my partner got the burrito. The only thing I would suggest changing is how they serve the tomato, lettuce, and sour cream. They brought chips and salsa to the table, which was a nice touch as we were very hungry. The atmosphere was pleasant, with traditional decorations and a clean environment. Our hostess was attentive to our needs and our food was prepared fresh.
