Sakimura Meriden

It was very nice here. It has a very clean environment and all the employees are very kind.

Sakimura is my family’s favorite place for hibachi! The atmosphere is cozy and inviting! The staff is very friendly and attentive. The food is so flavorful and presented very nicely. We eat here often. It’s even great for a quick lunch. The sweet potato roll is 10 out of 10!

As a sushi aficionado, I can confidently say that Sakimura in Meriden, Connecticut, is the best in the area! The sushi here is absolutely divine, with every bite bursting with freshness and flavor. But what truly sets Sakimura apart are their flaming scorpion bowls – they are a must-try! The ambiance is perfect for a romantic date night, with dim lighting and a cozy atmosphere. I’d like to start by saying that the food was good. The hibachi chef was great and made the dinner fun.What was really disappointing was the service on arrival and during the dinner.We had a 6pm reservation. We arrived at 5:55pm and made the team aware of our reservation. They advised that they were just setting things up and would be with us. 15 minutes passed and no further update.Finally, 6:20pm and we were seated. Our drinks order was taken not long after we were seated. This is great! However, the drinks didn’t get to us until 6:40pm.After this, our first part of the dinner was not provided to us until 7:20pm. At this point we were low on our first drinks. We had to find a waiter/waitress to ask for new drinks.After this point, the main part of the dinner was served and the chef did an excellent job.Overall, a good dinner but very disappointing service, especially the wait time at the beginning. Having a reservation should show that you need tables to be ready by 6pm for the guests who booked with you.

I hadn’t been to this restaurant since before Covid and I as very pleasantly surprised. The layout of the place has been updated. After all this time, the manager remembered us. The service was excellent and so was the food.
