Pauls Place Bakery - Merced

After a frustrating experience at Black Bear Diner, where we struggled to find someone to seat us, we arrived at this amazing restaurant! The prices are reasonable, the staff is incredibly friendly, and the food is absolutely delicious. We will certainly come back when we're in the area. Thank you for making us feel so welcome!

This place is amazing! The food and service are excellent. The staff was attentive and knew when we needed refills and takeout containers without us even asking. I can't believe it took us so long to try this restaurant, especially since we rarely explore new places. We ordered the Texas Sandwich and the Hobo Rib, and everything was packed with flavor. The soup was not just a bland mix of boiled vegetables—it was delicious! The onion rings were cooked perfectly, with a batter that actually had taste (which is rare; I often find that fried batter just tastes like plain bread crumbs). I only wish I could cook mushrooms and bell peppers that well!

I was in the area and on the lookout for a great breakfast spot. After asking some locals, I received excellent recommendations for Paul's Place. When we got there, the parking lot was packed, so we anticipated a wait, but surprisingly, we were seated immediately. Our server, Jenny, was fantastic from the start and kept impressing us throughout our meal. As out-of-town visitors, we'll definitely come back if we're in the area again. Thank you for such a lovely dining experience – the staff was outstanding!

The staff was extremely polite, and our food was delicious. Kudos to the chef! Our meals were served promptly, and the waitresses were attentive and friendly. If you haven't visited this restaurant yet, I highly recommend it because the food is truly excellent.
