Du Lac - MENAGGIO

The hotel has incredible views of the lake and of Menaggio. It's a great base for the rest of Lago di Como because it's a major stop for all the ferries. For travelers from other parts of Italy, I highly suggest taking the train from Milan to Varenna, because then you only have to go one stop on the ferry to Menaggio. Otherwise it takes many more hours to go to the town of Como and take the boats up from there, through many more stops. There is also a ferry from Menaggio to Bellagio, so you can go for that experience and then escape those crowds by returning to stay in Menaggio. The city has a guided walking tour that is well marked, detailing the history of the city, including during WW2. The rooms in this hotel are small but comfortable, and really, the view was worth it. It was such a relaxing place to stay.

What a disappointing meal. We didnt have a reservation in town and we couldnt find any other places with a table available so we ended up here. Service was slow and rude and the food tasted like it was microwaved. Ive seen better frozen pizza

This is not a luxury hotel but the bed was comfortable, the view spectacular and the bathroom was completely renovated. The check in was super easy and parking even better, so close...The brothers who run the place were super nice, the wait staff also very friendly. They do have breakfast, but we never ate there, only drank at the cafe and had some ice cream. I would stay in the hotel again as it was a great location with an easy walk to the boat to get you to the other small towns around the lake. There is a nice market along the water and at the square on Saturday with loads of vendors. There are some cute shops close by and restaurants within walking distance as well.

We came here every day while we were in Como. The servers were nice, but they could be a little slow at times and not super attentive. The drinks were good. I tried almost every pasta here and pretty much all of them were delicious, but I wouldn't say the BEST we had in Italy. My husband loved the sandwiches though. The best part about this place was the location! Plenty of outdoor seating right near the water! The BEST view! So awesome. The food comes out pretty quickly. It is very easy to get a table. I'm sure we will be back if we are in Menaggio again.

We've been on Lake Como for a week now and this was by far the most disappointing service/meal that we've had so far. The restaurant sits on a beautiful Piazza which was a great place to sit and people watch. Other than that, the caprese salad, ravioli and pizza margarita were all sub-par. Really disappointing but fortunately we have one more night here in town. I may recommend this place for a drink, but avoid the food.
