Restaurant bewertenWas already a few times before and always enthusiastic. not this time, and we will not go back. you have to say the escapes were fantastic, but it ended there. we waited over an hour for our main thing, waitress didn't seem to recognize, asked to say, "you're the next out" when it was clear not because other tables were served forward. they were obviously lost somewhere in the system (we got a free bottle of glittering mineral water) and when they finally arrived were very underwhelming; steak not properly boiled, fish overhauled and with half glass or capern, salat leaves heavily covered with vinaiigrette (not that we ordered this because we were last amazed how wonderful the leaves were dressed). not what they would expect at this price. the bill paid and got out. there are many other good French bistro options in melbourne, so bistro guiallame has to lift up their socks to remain relevant,
Have not eaten here for a long time, so it was time to go back. the service staff were all beautiful, efficient, etc. eating was just as it should be, they know the quality they will get at a place like this. mault, steakfriten., all delicious. (personally, although I prefer my steak not before the service cut, a large cook should be able to say it is bleu until the time taken to cook, the feeling all in a beautiful evening, I can't relate to the quality. prices, it's good though it's steep because I call, location and because they can. the only thing that was missing from our evening was vibe. it does not have the French Bistro-Brussels and vibe from somewhere like france soir. Perhaps that's because we haven't heard a single French speaking staff?
My friend, I've eaten Friday night. we were so impressed by the food and the courtesy of the staff we brought our families to lunch on Saturday. this place is fantastic. eating is a hearty French food that I had in rural France. the staff was so polite and helpful. I can't recommend this place enough. eat them there and look forward to them.
I had difficulty getting decent on a Friday night at some place, but it was possible to get a table in the open air area on Friday night, it was a nice warm balmy night that we sit fast and I let them know that we go to the theatre and that it was the birthday of my man. the waiting service was fantastic that they were fast when they knew we were gone soon, but they were not intrusive. our meal was tasty, we had the escargot, french wobbles and some other delicious dishes. the crème brûlée was sublime and they surprise me man with a happy birthday sign so unexpected the wein service was fantastic the atmosphere and the ambiente of the first class, we were before, but not for a long time and will definitely again be very many thanks for a pleasant start in our evening.
We have dined here on a number of occasions and it’s always been a nice experience. Today our experience was far from a good experience. The food was ok as was the service but my husband took ill within a couple of hours. He ate...the snails, which I didn’t as well as the oysters which I also didn’t have. We shared the John Dory which was dry and very over cooked or maybe just sat under the salamander a bit too long. I can only hazard a guess that it was either the snails or the oysters that made him ill. On a positive note it was great to see people out and about along Southgate but sadly we will not go back to Bistro Guillaume
